about robots and machines doing the jobs of people ...

like for instant Uber the taxi that drives its self ...
but they have been putting people in them for a while ...
to test them ... and other drones using as ...
delivering packages ...cops as a machine ... these are just a few of what is to come to replace humans work ... and cheaper which of course ...is their main goal ... my ? is what kind of job should someone be looking at to go to collage... if they are going to out sores humans ... for these jobs and will they still need people ... seems not the way their going ... what do you think ?

Its nothing new. Machines have been replacing people since Ford invented the assembly line (probably before that).

Advances in technology has been replacing people for a very long time but people still have jobs and still do work. The jobs just change.

I'm at the end of my career but the kids in high school that are considering a career might do well to look into the theoretical sciences to try to determine a career path.

There will always be a need for skilled labor. Machines will need mechanics, computers will need programmers and technicians and there will always be trash or recycling, not to mention food and the need to eat.

If one day there is no need for a robotic Uber driving car because we developed transporter technology there will still need to be transporter mechanics, programmers and installers.

Reduction of physical labors just means that our work will be more mental than physical.

the arts and trades, would be my suggestion if one is not tech minded. That will be about all that they can't do as well with machines.

I agree ... some of this tech will fall short of what they think will replace a person ... just do not like them talking about replacing people in jobs ... with something mechanical...

its a natural progression when our focus becomes profit and greed

replacing the things that make us human, as opposed to merely animal or machine,,,,with the things that give us the most bang (i.e) profit for our buck

machines are more efficient, because men make them so, usually to make more profit at less expense

, but the more they make them , the less men are needed,,,,

and the less men are needed, the less men make , to USE Those machines,,,and only the 'fittest'(wealthiest , or most connected) will survive to rule over the rest of the minions they can train to do their bidding

Automation is the only path forward, it takes a tremendous amount of designing and manpower to bring about these projects and will be a boon to the economy as they ramp up... you'd need 100 Chinamen to match the productivity of a good tomato & cucumber harvester

you know, jobs the population just won't do and if they do, they call in sick

In the factory I am building I am utilizing robots. Many of them, large and small. Fact is, in todays world (in manufacturing) if you do not use a combo of high tech automation and robotics you can never compete. You have to do it faster and better then the folks in Asia, where they have use beat on manpower and raw material cost. And the only way to do that.. is to design and build faster smarter automation.. run by robots.

Some say that does not creates jobs, but in fact, it creates many. A different type job, but good paying jobs none the less. And the trickle down effect those jobs have on the economy is a very positive thing.

I just learned of a robot like to kill germs ...
in Hospitals ... they kill the germs I guess humans can't get to ...
probability the nooks and cranny...
now they did not say this per say ... but I say ...
cuts down on the ...staff infections ...
I am not saying this is ...
a bad thing... but the cost of this robot is ...
an hopefully will lessen these infections ...
but does this rack up your hospital bill ...
who knows ... only they do ...
