Don't pump gas on November 21, 2007 In April 1997, there was a "gas out" conducted nationwide in protest of gas prices. Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon overnight. On November 21st 2007, all internet users are to not go to a gas station in protest of high gas prices. Gas is now over $3.20 a gallon in most places. 3.35 were i live There are 73,000,000+ American members currently on the internet network, and the average car takes about 45 to 65 dollars to fill up. If all users did not go to the pump on the 21st, it would take $2,292,000,000.00 (that's almost 3 BILLION) out of the oil companies pockets for just one day, so please do not go to the gas station on November 21st and let's try to put a dent in the Middle Eastern oil industry for at least one day. a 10 cent increas is what $2 if you get 20 gallons of gas when generally most people get 10 gallons? Not a big difference in price changes... besides the jacked-up prices have already gone up

Would be cool if it did, but this has been proven not to work...in the long run we are all going to fill up and do what we need to do...plus not really practical for those traveling long distances tomorrow.

What is proven to work is to not buy gas from major oil companies like Exon and such, i prefer my speedy rewards however

You know until gas becomes a serious people, us americans will do nothing, still fill up yet complain. Nothing will be done until people start car poolings or other sources of fuel come about, outwise we all all Whinners, and you seen the anti whinner post i assume =)

Where do you think Quickie Mart gets there gas from? In the long run, Exxon and all the big boys get their's.

most do i agree. But some dont BP doesnt and a couple others, im really only concerned about my speedy rewards so all else is relative

This has been suggested before, and of course, it doesn't work. It can't work because even if you do not buy gas on a particular day, you still have to get the same amount of gas on a different day, so the big guys aren't out anything!
I'm in shock everytime I have to turn over more than $50 for a tank of gas. I think my truck's tank is growing!! |

mabe if fuel was 10.00 a gallon us fat americans would finally give up our wasteful, polluting vehicles and find other options. i say bring on the high prices, it can only lead to alternatives that are already there being used.

.. using myself as an example of inefficency for example.... i drive around in my service van, sucking up dinasaur gas at a proficient rate... When not doing that, im driving around in a 1968 Camaro which gets even worse mileage. I live in the middle of nowhere so everywhere i need to go is at least 25 miles....
my only reedeming quality is that i build super efficient houses. |

Sorry. This was tried just recently; I never heard that it made any difference. It even made the news here.
Anyway, I will be buying gas tomorrow, because it just went down 20 cents from about 4 days ago. Three days ago it was 3.07 and two days ago it was 2.95, and today it went down to 2.83. I will be filling up tomomorow morning. Thank goodness it went down even for just one day. Good luck with your cause. Kat |
