LDR can be hard but you can make them work. Both of you  Keep the lines of communication open.

Have you been in long distance relationship? And how long did it last? Can you tell it from your own experiences and successful ones? I take advises only from people, who have done that and with positive results. Otherwise saying "you can make it work" are just an empty words.

I know exactly, how hard it is when people you care about live far away from you and how frustrating it can be sometimes not to have immediate contact, when it's really needed. How it affects your personal emotions and every-day life. And no media can replace it. I have family members and friends living in foreign countries and it is already difficult enough. But if we are talking about man-woman relationship, which should include certain intimacy also, then it is even harder. Yes, it is possible, for a while, but in long term, no.

I would really want to know what made you post this topic and what message you want to send with it?

I am in a LDR ...
We are only an 8 hour drive away from each other, or a 1 hour flight...
We talk frequently throughout the day .. he calls it 'visiting' ..with updates of what's going on in his day ..
We physically see each other every 4 -5 weeks or so for a week at a time..
If he wasn't an old boyfriend from when I was 16...and lived across the world ... I don't think it would work for me
I require physical contact...

I have been in a LDR for two years and still going strong. Will be flying out in 62 days for good this time around,
Key things to keep in mind.
1. Keep it real!!!! No fantasies of each other.
2. Communication is a must.
3. Real face to face time. Meaning breathing each others air.
4. Trust.
5. Commitment
6. Realistic Goals
7. Be in agreement of who is going to move etc...
8. Timelines of when that will happen.
9. Have funtimes. Set a side date time whether it is just a game you both can play together.
10. Skype, Viber, something with camera is a must !! Something about having in coffee before hair make up etc puts a touch of reality to the couple.

OMG I just meet this guy on other site we have a ton of things in common. He is over a 100 miles away is that considered LDR? I told him he was too far away. He says he like to get away from ranch on weekends.(His job) I'm not moving no way I own my farm. Is it wrong of me to think this is too far. To shut it down right away? He says to at least give him a chance to get to know me as friends first. I'm not looking for LDR. Pickens are slim to none where I live advice anyone?

Well.... dang it when Panch and I met we both vowed no LDR'S for either one of us. And well I have been burning the airmiles 2500 to be exact. Lol
And I knew upfront he would not be the one relocating..
Ask yourself what do you have to lose could be wonderful or a dud...

This sounds really great. But it also means that your relationship is very strong. Thanks for sharing!
