If they didn't work at all then EVERYONE that was in the military or traveled for a living would be single. Not the case. Yes LDR's are not for everyone just like smothering affection is not for everyone. We just need to find a partner that shares our views/needs/desires.

It's way too difficult yes, but it depends on the couples how broad their minds are..They must take a lot of effort to work things out coz relationship is what it is, effort...

Don't say that!!! I met someone online although he lives 3 hrs away. our careers keep us busy. I drive a truck 5-6 days a week 40+ hours and he is Ranch Foreman. We find time talk constantly. We male time when possible. While distance is a hassle. It also makes us appreciate the time we have. I have considered a job closer to where he lives. My job is versatile. Where his is not. If we continue pursuit of long term. They can work compromise is necessary here. Love conquers all. I am not naive either. Sometimes things don't work out. But it is always possible if both parties involved make the effort. That fact he is 6'5 and built like a brick house does hurt either LOL

Long distance relationships can sometimes be exciting knowing two individuals from different world's learning about each other's culture. The problem is with the individual, whether they will be able to keep the love burning and its not just about the distance. They can be NEAR and yet so FAR. If you are meant to be, you are meant to be. Been in two LDRs though (France and USA) and I must say I leant a lot from them

There are different type of long distance relationship. One might travel for work just for a period of time that does not mean she wont be back to reunite with her partner.
