Dear Soulmate,
When I was a little girl, I imagined someday meeting my prince, just like in the fairy tales. No one could convince me, as I grew up, that fairy tales only happened in books or in movies. I knew in my heart you were real, that you would search the ends of the Earth to find me and we'd live happily ever after. I'm not sure at what point in my life or exactly when I stopped believing in fairy tales; but I do know that it saddens me now at this point in my life, because not only have I lost the belief in fairy tales, I seem to have lost hope in the real thing as well. In a way, it's like losing a life long companion, a part of you that has been there your whole life and you wake up one day to find it gone. The odd thing though, is that even though there's sadness, there's also an inner peace. I know now that if our paths never meet, I will be okay. Maybe the next chapter in my journey of life is meant to be solo, maybe not. I just know that I'm done trying to figure it all out, done waiting for it to happen, and ready to just be. I do still believe in soulmates, but perhaps for now, connecting with my own is best. And perhaps that's what just happened. In writing this, I realized I am writing to "you", so I guess there must be a small mustard seed of hope in me somewhere. So I will end this letter to you by saying that I am doing well. If we never meet in this lifetime, it's okay, I may get lonely sometimes, but will never be alone. If we do meet, know that I most likely won't be paying attention, so you may need to nudge me a little to get my attention.....like maybe pulling up on a white chariot, lol....just kidding! May Our Spirits Never Part, Me
