Topic: Are You Too Old For Anything?

It seems after a certain age , we are told we are too old for so many things.

Too old to party in the clubs
Too old to get new piercings and tats
Too old to wear that youthful outfit
Too old to date someone of a certain age

And yet we see mature celebrities like madonna and cher who continue to defy every single box that society tries to confine them to.

QUESTION

1. Now that you re older , do you think there is anything you are too old for?

2. Do you refuse to participate in any activities or habits because society considers you too old?

So peggy since you have read all of these have you come to a conclusion? Will you let age hold you back? You seem very active in this subject.

Hi ome.waving

Ive decided to not let age hold me back in doing all the things I yearn to do,

I just have to brace myself for the disapproving stares Im sure to get :)

I like that mindset its a way to keep you young forever. Without the need of nips and tucks. ☺

Plastic surgery is rare in my country Ome. Id be surprised if more than 50 people have had work done.

But I will try to take good care of myself and colour the grey in my hair . My aunt is holding up pretty well!

I'm starting to think I'm too old to keep working outside when it's extremely hot. Not sure if it's an age thing or if it's just that the summers are getting hotter.

I think you might be right peggy. It's getting hotter earlier each year. It started a month ago here. We don't usually have heat indexes over 100 degrees until at least the end of June or early July.

Peggy,

Yes, look at Cher, when you have that type of finance behind you, the best medical treatment on tap, the odd little nip and tuck when things are moving in the wrong direction, and that type of lifestyle afforded to you, then yes-you can look wonderful as the years pile on, but life is more important than that, it's how you think and relate to people, don't get fooled by the wealthy clothes horse, because if you haven't got the where withall as mentioned above, then as you get older you are going to be very disappointed, enjoy where you are now:thumbsup:

I will say this wellworn.
I have an aunt who turned 71 this year, who has no heath challenges, walks briskly, and has maintained a slim figure. Wrinkles are confined only to he forehead and she has remained just as sharp and productive as when she was in her 40s.

She is not rich, does not have a personal trainer, or chef, and has not gotten any nips and tucks .

She wont be prancing about in a bikini on stage like cher any time soon but what they both have in common is great health, a passion for life, and an indomitable spirit .

The money, plastic surgeries and flamboyance are just cool trimmings but not really needed :)

Peggy, That's great for your aunt, there are many people in their 70s in the same place as she is, and it is her you should be putting up as an example, not Cher, and to consider all that other stuff as cool trimmings, well.

Visuals are fundamental in marketing my friend.:)

No one knows my aunt.

Every one knows Cher.

If people feel uninspired by her, they are more than welcome to replace it with a visual of their own :)

Marketing, Visuals, who needs it, kids maybe, brainwashed to look not listen, talking of which, what about Cher's music, if that's what you can call it, fundamental my friendrofl rofl rofl rofl rofl

I relate pisces. The tropical climate in my country has changed drastically as well. We no longer have a distinct dry season and rainy season anymore. I really miss that :(

I like a few of cher's songs and her voice is powerful in my opinion. The central theme of this thread is longevity and vitality. Cher stood out for me in that regard. But people can admire and be inspired by whomever they want wellworn :D
