I think we just grow with it, as it has been said, not so much of it,and a bit longer to recover, the minds willing but the flesh is weak

so true well worn!

The mind is soliciting us to have sexy creatures drink jello shots from our belly buttons, but the body beckons us to have a glass of prune juice before bed

No. I do whatever I feel comfy with. The only time I had second thoughts about certain outfits was because of my kids. It had to do with being on stage -I like to dress up for that, and the way I dress up is gothic and as sexy as I can get away with without shocking ppl, lol. And my kids were there for the gig too, participated in it themselves. THeir mates were there too and I knew they felt awkward about me not looking like a Coronation Street mom.

I recently turned 51, and I wear and/or do whatever I like, which reflects how I feel.
I'm not one of those ppl who thinks the best part of their life is over. I feel quite the opposite: the best part of my life has only just begun!
I finally care less about what other ppl think or say, and I finally met the man I really want and am over the moon happy with.
I feel young, sexy, vibrant, I look good, so why the heck would I act and/or dress differently?

Congrats Crystal!
I have the same sentiments for you as I did for cher...
GO GET IT GIRL !!!!!! drinker drinker drinker

The older celebrities offer us inspiration and validation that our life is continuing and we are still vibrant..

When I saw cher in that hot outfit belting her lungs out at the billboard music awards, looking delectable at the age of 71, I said to myself. " Go get it girl!!! "

She was great!

There is no one like cher mike4you.

NO ONE ! happy

1. Now that you re older , do you think there is anything you are too old for?
Yes. One cannot be an Air Traffic Controller after the age of 34 (starting out.)

2. Do you refuse to participate in any activities or habits because society considers you too old?
Yes. Bathing suits.. No one wants to see that.

I forgot about the careers that wont accommodate us soufie. That's a good point.

But the bathing suits? Psssssh...

There are great bathing suits for almost any body type these days, at almost any age.

Go get that snazzy tankini soufie! I'm not taking no for an answer! happy

Stewardesses used to have to be 25 or under to start a career.
Oh I still have the bikini.
It is a drawer bikini now.
Looks great there :-)

1. Now that you re older , do you think there is anything you are too old for?

Too old for - NO
Not healthy enough or too wise for - Yes

2. Do you refuse to participate in any activities or habits because society considers you too old?

Considering that I feel society is insane I really don't care what society thinks. I have never 'not done something' I wanted because I was considering that it may 'look' "Too Old" for society.

In my mind I am not old. My body is another matter.

When I was younger, I could drop the tailgate of my truck and jump in the back with no problem.
Now that I am older, if I tried it, I would wreck myself and fall on my face.
I AM too old to continue that behavior. I still know how to do it but my body isn't able.

With age comes wisdom. Many of the things I used to do that I do not do anymore is because I gained wisdom. I don't exist to please society.

We can only do what our bodies will allow us to do . I totally get that tom flowerforyou

That said, there is this woman in her 80s who for several years ran a 15 k in my country and beat out many of the youngsters.

I finished an hour and a half after her many years ago.

(My therapist says I will get over it soon sad2 )

I definitely don't feel too old to do anything I want. Though as we age , we cannot deny that our body changes , it's not like how it was before when we were young. But it's mind over body, the body maybe weak sometimes yet when the mind is willing you can definitely go for the things that you want to do. As for our society, there maybe things that we need to consider and have to do with discretion as to avoid issues or unnecessary feedbacks.

you re my kinda gal Kristi!drinker

I kick myself everyday for not taking a motor ride with my brother when he went through a brief biking phase

But like you, I plan to avail myself of every adventure that my conscience (and the law ) will allow. I just have to man up to all the judgey stares I will get from my family and my god kids who will no doubt disown me whoa

Ohhh girl I have done a few things that my kids just look at me and shake their head...

From taking a weekend trip in a 18 wheeler to flying off to meet someone.. hahahaha That kind of stuff I'm past doing the older I get and the meaner this world gets...

But it is not beyond me to do the floating down the river partying to what ever floats my boat..

Myself I could careless what others think~~~ My family knows by now I'm going to do what ever I feel like.. As long as I don't hurt anyone or end up in jail well then all is good..

As long as it is not roller coasters even tho I love them... Due to a accident a couple years ago I now have 4 herniated disk in my neck... So as long as it will not cause me more damage in that area I'm good to go..

When I try and tell the young ones what I got up in the 60s & 70s, they just look at me as if I am totally insane, but there does come a time when you you just have to leave it to them, I am not saying you are wrong,I was exactly the same, then gradually you start to loose interest, it's a sort of mind burn out, but certainly carry on and enjoysmokin

Why caring about what people will think in first place?

Hmm... If I am honest carebear, I care sometimes because sometimes a oerson's opinion of me can affect how I am treated. And I do care about how am treated

I was going to say I'm too old to wear onesies, but I just googled it and they have onesies for adults laugh Really cute sexy ones too blushing

Like most here, I don't think I'm too old for anything. I may be 55 in years, but my heart and mind says I'm a lot younger. I believe we are never too old to do the things we desire. But I also believe that as we get older, sometimes there are limitations due to health reasons or the body just not wanting to cooperate as well. There are things I wouldn't do that I did when I was younger, but mostly because I'm not interested in it anymore, not because I think I'm too old.

Alright you can do whatever you put your mind to. I agree try and keep it somewhat socially acceptable. I was the guy in the group that had the hot mom. Which would have gotten me in more fights if my mom did somthing as crazy as a micro skirt. She did wear short shorts good thing none of my friends:expressionless: were around for that. I never felt my mom had do anything to change because of how old she was. My dad went sky diving my senior year it was the best rush of his life he said. Age is a mental block we put on everybody. I get told I'm to young to do crap all the time. Did you know you are not allowed to rent a car if you're under the age of 21. Which bumbed me out when my cars cylinder head warped. I wanted one for a day or two so I could take the cylinder head to the machinist. Instead I walked there with the cylinder head. Anyways you can do anything its just sometimes you might have to do it the hard way. That goes for young and old. My dad was sore for like a weak after that sky dive.
