Good Day my beautiful family of M2, its a lovely day in the city of Philadelphia today. I just did 2 monitoring time sessions for the prison reform workshops at the PA Convention Center today, see your boy is always getting involved to make a different. Shouts out to everybody, you guys keep me relevant buy voicing in my forums. Okay, today, I want to talk about something a little different. I came across this article in our local paper I was moved to hear this woman's story. Her name is Terri Fame,46, has been a prostitute since she was 17. She is homeless in Philly's Kensington section & addicted to heroin & crack. Ms. Frame talks calmly about a brutal attack she survived last year, during which a man severed her vocal cords. her words " I acted like I died, & he left. I's a roll of the dice out here. You take chances. If Prostitution wasn't illegal, it could be done so much easier and safer. She also explains she escaped a underground basement where she was held during her days as a woman of the night. Here's the kicker, she doesn't want to stop prostitution but she did kick the habit of drugs and she's one of many that started a non profit organization here in Philly and has dreams to expand to cities all thru out the country. Her organization help find jobs, housing, counseling to women they want to move on to a better cause and do great things. She and her program even took the fight to the governor here and not just got recognition by our governor, but even got funding and they also go into the streets and physically grab these women off the streets and give them options. So America, do you think changing your life as a prostitute now activist slash organizer can be done? Can people make a difference or is it a fight on a massive scale? Do you believe it can work or fail? Let's talk about it. Can't wait to hear from you all.

All replies will be answered back!

EyeAmYourHsot39,

I am very proud that she wanted to make a change for the greater. Too many times we hear prostitutes making the neighborhoods look ugly. They lower property value, and even eye sores. And usually they are, but when a woman say " No More". I'm a daughter, a mother, sometimes even a wife or somebody's girlfriend. Or even if she paying for college and its temporary in her mind, I still thank people can change. Its not impossible as long as you have the fortitude to want change. The same way you wanted in they life, you should have the same Synergy to want to leave. Way to go for her. I support activist only if its make sense and its a worthy cause.

Hookers have been around since we moved out of Eden. Most have drug or other issues to deal with. There are of course some high paid well taken care of "escorts". But they are all people, human beings. They should be treated as such and given the full protection of the law and courts just like any other person.

MotownDownton,

Hello , welcome back as well. you know you are clearly right. Even if she makes her money on the streets or a high price call girl and doing her business in a 5 star hotel, she still have feelings. I think we in the world sometimes forget that women who are in the sex industry doesn't make them sluts. I mean I never has an opportunity to ask a sex worker if she has bigger plans that her profession will lead her to her goal? But no you right, feelings matter!

Consenting sex is consenting sex, I do not think the government should make it illegal or legal,,staying out of peoples bedrooms means just that, it means neither giving support or causing obstacles

the ONLY time I support government involvement is in the case of men and women getting together because of the obvious advantages children coming into the world (through the union of man and woman) have when they are born in wedlock,,,,and the obstacles and stigma they face when they are not

I think in this tech age it would be wiser for prostitutes to be self employed and work from safer locations with CREDIT CARD payments, more like escorts

I think it obviously can be done BUT the system is not designed to do much but put up obstacles to doing it,,,,Kudos to her for turning around her life AND helping others,,,drinker

Ms Harmony,

Hello my favorite woman of mingle, how's your day? good I hope, well the statement you said, keep the government out of America's bed room, well I kind of agree with that. but you got to remember, we live in a country where they said the same thing about liquor during prohibition. " Let the folks to be able to buy and sell as well as drink liquor as long its not regulated". Once the government said " hey you know what, it might be something to this alcohol thing, why don't we tax it? why don't we regulate it ? and make tons of money do it". well where I'm getting that is prostitution is a low key business but once the government can find a way to make money and tax prostitution then it would be no different then alcohol cigarettes and firearms. then problem with unsafe prostitution is its helping to spread std's. But I'm sure the powers that be still making money of infected people.
