I don't love 'em, but I don't hate 'em.

We have 3 macs in the house, and 4 pc's. 2 of the mac's are laptops, and 1 of the pc's is.

Mac has several positives, less of a risk of viruses or malicious software (there are a few running around, but chances are you won't encounter them), a clean outside look, Boot camp (so if you wanted to run windows, you can), easy to install/uninstall software (there's more, but those are the most obvious to me).

There is a downside to Mac though, and I'm sure even Mac users will agree with me on some of these.

It doesn't make the best of its hardware (we have a PC and a Mac running the exact same hardware, the PC runs circles around it, also that same Mac we loaded Bootcamp on, and when starting in Windows it was also faster), the mouse behaves strangely (too slow to too fast, but never how you want (there's many google searches you can find on Mac's mouse speed)), constantly fails to print (it finds the printer, but get's stuck at 8%, and 16% all the time; only happens with the mac's in our house), no task bar makes chatting with multiple people a bit of a challenge, windows don't open full screen (there's more, but these are the one's that bug me the most).

You know, I was also wondering if there were any Mac lovers, cause I was born and raised on Macs. I don't have a hate for PC, but I have an overwelhming love for my iBook. Once I feel it's necessary I will upgrade to a MacBook Pro hehe.

Remember the ol' days of square black and white macs? Oooh, I still have one in my basement haha. I am still a fan of Mac Brick Out.

Hmmm.... Let's see

Home
----
1 Powerbook G4 1.5 Ghz
1 iPod Touch (AT&T is non-existent in Los Alamos and most of New Mexico)

and a Dell that hasn't been turned on in over a year.

Work
----
1 Mac Mini 1.66 (my desktop machine
1 G5 dual processor
3 brand new Intel based X-Serves
1 intel based Macbook Pro

and a Dell that almost never get used.

Advantages of Macs
---------------
- I have 4 web/database servers at work and they just work.
- I've been working with Macs since '92 and have had 2 viruses if I remember right.
- Want to run Windows? reboot your current Mac or run Parallels or similar.
- Want the fastest Windows Vista laptop? Buy a MacBook Pro (no kidding -- see PC World review).

Advantages of PCs
--------------
- More games -- but if I wanna play games, I'll get a Wii
- SOME software just isn't readily available for OS X -- Autocad comes to mind.

I own a MacBook but after I graduate I plan on getting an iMac.

At school I use G5s and iMacs.

Apples are my true love. If ever I don't find someone, I always know my Mac will be faithful.

Love the programs that replace the Windows versions. Adium is so fantastic (the conversations come up in tabs so theres no need of a taskbar... or just hit F9 if you need to get to certain windows.)

I love the shortcuts that the PC doesn't have. Especially when I'm using the Adobe products. Being a graphic designer a Mac is more accessible than a PC. Sure I have a stupid Windows machine but I never use it. Hasn't been on since I got my Mac, which is over a year now.

And as for the whole Windows being on a Mac. BULLCRAP! Lol. I love OSX. Its so smooth. Its so customizable. And very user friendly. Using my moms computer I have to remember how to use the Start menu, lol.

Yep, Macs are pretty much a big deal.

Yeah, Apple's pretty much just showing off now. The problems are that with the touch screen. Who wants to buy an 8GB touch for $299 when you can get an 80GB for 249!? People are crazy but Apple knows this. So that's what that is. I personally am not one to need a touch screen. Nor am I one to need whats "cool".
