That is the problem. You won't and nor will anyone else pay more, if that were the case then you and we wouldn't import so much that could be made at home.

You nor I have any real input into importation...

When I was a kid, I only paid for things at the dollar store

as I grew older, made more, I shopped at pricier places

Ms Trump does not buy her clothes from SEARS

,,yes, the more we make, the more we are willing to pay ....

Of course we do!
Cars, parts for boing aircraft, clothing the list goes on. even cheap rubbish at the store! Clothing, cheap or a thousand $is mostly made in poorer countries

and how do I have any say in where those companies choose to make their products?

What does it matter where trump buys her stuff. you've just admitted that you went up market when you could afford it so makes you no different!

That's why I said I used to scrub toilet and even still have clothes from high school and it doesn't bother me

Most people live to there means what ever the cost someone has made it so has been employed!

I take after my grandparents (went through the Great Depression). I am very simple and don't need a lot. If someone can afford it....go get em

OMG! are you serious right now?

the point isn't about where the Trumps buy their stuff, it is not about the TRUMPS

the TRUMPS are a well known wealthy family, so they were an EXAMPLE of how making more does indeed affect whether people are WILLING TO SPEND MORE.

me no longer shopping at dollar stores is ALSO an example of how making more affects whether people are WILLING TO SPEND MORE.

Because the customer "you "dictates the price!
If shoes from China are $10 and the exact shoes made in the us are $20 where will you buy plus the lefties crating all these so good employment laws to "protect "people have out priced your and our industry

no, for me, I dont research to merely shop.

For me, I believe the government should be 'regulating' the where before it gets to the place where the customer only has to choose the 'what'

She can buy what she wants. Should have nothing to do with anything. Why question where Trump came in?

read the thread, Im really not here for arguing.

the point being put forth between mikey and I is my pov that if people make money and as they make more money, they are willing to pay more.

my examples included someone at the lower scale of income and spending, ME

AND

someone at the higher scale of income and spending, MS TRUMP

I READ THE THREAD! YOU brought the Trumps into it and opened that door.

I have never collected assistance. Even when I couldn't work because I was taking care of my grandmother, I would still clean houses. Point being....people (unless some disability stops them) can do something to work. Most don't (my older sister in fact and many others I know and call out).

I have plantar fasciitis and it effects my hips and back...gueas what? I still do as much manual labor as I can. I need a sit down job. I won't get money for nothing.

The Trumps have nothing to do with it. You brought it up...not sure your point in that. They have money and can do as they want. You took it off topic. Don't blame others

I wonder how people feel about investing 12 years of their life to education, but come out with as much of an education as it takes to flip hamburgers at McDonald's//So ya mean I went to school for 12 years to start at the bottom.

I feel the biggest thing we could do for the citizens of these United States is to provide a better education system so that starting at the bottom becomes a thing of the past,

You give people entitlement money ya feed them monthly give them a better more advanced education and you give them the ability to make money..

You hear all about these companies that can't find the skilled workers you incorporate these companies into the education system which for the schools would become financially better for them as well because the companies would be investing in the schools as well

To me the education system is old and outdated and that if you don't advance the people at better pace more conducive with the times then you will just start them as a fry cook in some dank nowhere job ...spock
