Wow! and but there is deliverance from addictions and bonds to chemical dependencies of smoking, fooling even a wisest individual to suspecting the need in the dependency is a want...

I am now a non-smoker, finally managed to break a 20 a day habit, that was 25 years ago. The price of pack of 20 here in the UK is now around £10.00($13.00) and I believe for some brands there are ony 18 in a packet. I have certainly saved myself a lot of money, and would never start smoking again. Here in the UK some smokers are switching to Vaping, I believe it's cheaper than smoking cigarettes.

Ex smoker... when you have a stroke, and doctor says quit, you quit. Wished I had stopped long before that. Best thing I ever did was quitting cigarettes.

Humm quit smoking cigs will be 15 years come this January~~~

Due to complications with my first granddaughter when she was born... Since they were living with me and she was born a preemie had to stay in the hospital for a week due to lungs not developed and needed some help... First thing the Dr said was who is she going home with and do you smoke???

I was smoking 2-3 packs a day full blown chain smoker... I knew I had only one choice and it was for the right reason.. I smoked what I had bought and never looked back..

Never had a craving for them from the time I last put them down...

But other smokers do not bother me either... As long as they don't blow it in my face I'm good...

Ex smokers are the worst at times... I don't try to get others to stop smoking unless they say they want too.. But as far as being around smokers I'm around them all day long at work..

My brothers partner is a chain smoker our offices are all connected no closed doors... But they did go buy good filter systems for the office areas that are awesome I really don't notice the smoke...

Only thing that changed with me is I no longer allow anyone to smoke in my car or my home...

I go to theirs it is their home not mine... whoa

No.. no smoking in house or car either.. I really don't know many anymore that do smoke.
I have one friend that rolls his own and only smokes on occasion. So it's really not a problem at all with me, other than two of my favorite bars allow smoking... oh well..lol

I had quit for eleven years. Started back up again, was only going to be a couple weeks to get past a rough time. That was 16 years ago whoa

I need to quit again, guess when my wants have aligned with my needs, I will.

Now would be a good time though, I'm laid off from work so I wouldn't drive everyone crazy.

TxsGal, that's pretty much how I did it, smoked what I had left and didn't look back. Well, til 16 years ago. I quit three years ago for 3 months the same way. So I know when I reach a point where I am done, I can do it again.

Even the bars don't bother me if they have a decent filter system and ceiling fans help a lot...

Even when I go out to eat due to normally I'm alone I always sit at the bar at a restaurant and many of them here you can still smoke at the bar even in the restaurant....

But I sit at the bar, for there is always someone to talk too when you go alone makes it nice at times. Heck it is funny for even then I have had the smokers ask if their smoke is bothering me.. once they notice I don't smoke..

Seems I still have lots of those that I know smoke but all are considerate of those that do not..

Girl we all quit on our own time~~~and for our own reasons.. But unless we really want to it will not happen.. When I quit the last time I had quit cold turkey more then once prior.. up to to 3 years picked them back up due to stress and I was pissed as hell went from 0 to 2 packs in no time... I can say I actually enjoyed smoking.. I don't miss it now and have been truly blessed that I have never had the craving for them since I laid them down...

Yes I agree TxsGal, unless we really want to, it doesn't happen. There's a part of me that still enjoys it, but there's another part of me that doesn't. The part that doesn't is starting to out weigh that part of me that does, so I know it's something I will do eventually.

I don't like smoking around other people, especially if they don't. And I sure don't like my clothes smelling like cigarette smoke. And like any other addiction, it interferes with my getting anything done, especially inside the house since I don't smoke indoors.

Oh now there's a thought, I can move some place where it's freezing cold outside, I'll stay indoors and won't smoke laugh

Kidding, it doesn't work that way. Cheers TxsGal for not going back drinker

I am an avid non-smoker. I didn't used to be bothered by others smoking, until I caught pneumonia and almost had a collapsed lung. After that I found it impossible to tolerate any second hand smoke, seeing an ashtray filled with butt ends makes me want to throw up.
I dont try to convince others to quit, we all know the consequences each to his own.

I’m so glad for those of you who have quit. it’s not exactly easy to do, for most people-
And for those of you who want to...keep trying! It will be well worth it in the long run!:grin:
