Similar birth certificate policies are set to take effect in 2018 in Oregon and California. Such policies reflect growing support for the non-binary community, or people who reject traditional gender binaries such as "man" or "woman." Sarah Kate Ellis, President and CEO of GLAAD, said a recent report from the LGBTQ advocacy group shows that 20% of millennials identify as LGBTQ, and more young people are rejecting traditional binaries. In light of such attitudes, "it is vital that states catch up and acknowledge the reality of the non-binary community," she said. Support for such policies are especially meaningful in America's current sociopolitical climate, she added. "With LGBTQ people and especially

I have an idea. Why dont we push to make a birth certificate record of a human childs birth place and time and their BIOLOGICAL origin.

we can call them, oh I dont know, MALE and FEMALE(Because anatomy calls for one of both) in the parent slot if mother father woman or men offend people

and we can also describe the child anatomically as Human MALE or Human Female according to if they have healthy testicles and penis or healthy ovary/vagina

how bou da!

I don't have a personal stake in how anyone handles this, but it seems clear to me that there are at least three possible physiological statuses that a newborn can have. Male, female, and in between.

The many other designations that people seem to be concerned about, can't be tested for at the time of birth. Not yet, anyway.

Mostly, I don't see why it's important to make such designations at birth. Aside from the immediate health needs of the child, of course.

SMH, Really? Really? More proof we are losing it

IMO "we" already lost it and hopefully the ride to the crash at the bottom happens long after I'm dead.

Other than that, seems more click bait hysterics over something pointless.
But what else can you expect from yahoo news.

Great.
So someone is going to go into their Word document templates and change their "birth certificate form."

Probably going to cost the taxpayers millions as they have to form a committee to come up with a workgroup to develop a want ad before kicking it back to the committee to interview prospective contractors who have the correct amount of licensing, insurance, EPA certification, OSHA training, employee diversity, and security clearance to change a template for the lowest price.

Seems it would be more appropriate to label it something like "egg originator" and "sperm originator."

One thing I once wondered for about 10 seconds: If a Mexican citizen couple hired a U.S. citizen surrogate to carry their child to term (produced from his sperm and his wife's egg, but incubated by the U.S. citizen) would that automatically grant the kid U.S. citizenship?

Hmmm...so maybe it would be even more appropriate for labels like "fertilizer, egginator," and "incubatrix."

we can also describe the child anatomically as Human MALE or Human Female according to if they have healthy testicles and penis or healthy ovary/vagina

How invasive do you want a doctor to be towards a newborn baby?
I mean a lot of male babies don't have testes that drop outside the body until months after they're born.
And how is a doctor to determine if a newborn baby's ovaries are healthy? And are we sure such testing doesn't traumatize the baby?

Maybe it should just be based on a quick visual inspection.
"Innee, outtee, neither, both."

Pennsylvania's been completely gutted from all the sickness. There is crap for industry. Local towns commissioners folk and the like reject and push industrial company prospects away all the time.
Now the stores are closing. BUT they are fighting like he'll to get Amazon's second headquarters built here. Seems they really give a **** about companies monopolizing. Big money fast maybe?
Amazon's search for a second headquarters city has triggered an unprecedented competition among governments around North America to attract the $5billion project ( that promises to create 50,000 jobs)laugh yeah right!
PHILADELPHIA (AP) ---- State and local governments have been more than happy to play up the amenities they think make they're locations the best choice for Amazon's 2nd headquarters. (But many of them will not disclose the tax breaks or other financial incentives they are offering the online giant.)
A quote from Gov. Tom Wolf -- Pennsylvania has a once in a generation opportunity to develop and implement a strategy that will cultivate a manufacturing renaissance and transform our economy across the Commonwealth. A career politician with a doctorate in politics from MIT and a business owner. whoa We used to have unbelievable amount of manufacturing. oops offtopic

Typical liberal stupidity... So who decides? The parents decide at birth on whether thier son will grow up to be a girl?

What the hell is a in between at birth? You are born a male or female...period!. after that it is your problem if you want to change all your legal paperwork to fit a " in between" status. Your problem... not the systems.
