I was taught that Angels always were and always will be. They are finite and no one who lives on earth will become an Angel. Why God, the father, is the "Chief" of all Angels and how he got to be the Highest is what I wonder. So, God did not create Satan, a fallen Angel. What do you think about this?

So in that example is God all powerful, or does he have equal power with the other angles?

Not sure about the "creation" of Satan, but it's my understanding that he was an angel and became a bad one and was kicked out of heaven. It's true, from my studying of angels, that no one on earth can become one, but...people can pass away and become spirit guides. We wouldn't ever know, personally, who our guardian angel, for instance. They are assigned to us from birth and stay with us throughout our entire life. Also, if an angel has an assignment, they can take human form. But we wouldn't know that they are one either.

Yzrabbit1:

God is all powerful and has the power over all the Angels.

My understanding is that God is omni-potent, which would imply forever in power. Man has a beginning but in this case God does not. I don't think the normal rules of cause and effect apply to the creator, since God set the rules in the first place. I can only take a guess since I am not one, but I believe angels do the bidding of God because they believe in his purpose. Any other choice and they would end up as satan.

eskimo_nell - when we die, our souls go to heaven where we will see God, Jesus, Angels and Saints, know the answers to all questions we have ever wondered and live happily until the final judgement when our body and souls will be reunited forever. That is my basic understanding.

I believe that angels are creations, just like everything else. Part of God's divine nature is that God is eternal, God is self sufficient and needs nothing else in order to exist. God has no beginning and no end. Why would God name himself "I AM" (which is a declaration of God's self-sufficient nature), if there were other self-sufficient beings? I don't see any support in the Bible to suggest that God is simply the foremost amoung angels. God is the original cause, the source of all that exists.

Angels are servents. Angel in Hebrew is "malach", which translates to "messenger". Those who are saved will be raised above the angels. Life in heaven is not described anywhere in the Bible. The closest you can get is in Revelations and the description is coded. The surest promise that we have is that no man has or even can imagine what God has planned for those who enter heaven.

So do you just lay a cross on top of revelations?

or how does that work?

Why don't you try that and tell me how it works?

It's all Greek mythology to me. laugh

Everyone who isn't God is either a servant to God, or is sent to hell.

This God must be pretty lame to need so many servants. That’s all I know.

Im not the one thats in on the whole code thing. Is there a reason that you would want to keep something in the Bible a secret from other people?

Yes, there is. Christians, at one time, were hunted and killed. Christians were presecuted and being a public Christian was tantamount to a death wish. Today, in dozens of countries, the same is true. For instance: Any Muslim who leaves Islam does so under a death sentence. So when John wrote the Book of Revelations, he did so in code, so that anyone to read it would think that it was the babblings of a mad man. Some of the codes have been deciphered, most have not. Christians must trust in the Holy Spirit to guide them when reading this particular book, so that we can come to the correct meaning and not be distracted by the strange codes in which the book is written.

If people were being persecuted don't you think it would have been better to hide the code in some other book so you don't have to carry the dangerous bible with you everywhere
