Some women do go to the Man. Personal choice.

Let's say many don't and it works for Me. And I am prefectly capeable of travel now too.

Men are the Hunters. Ediquette is they come. :laugh

We disagree there.

Proper etiquette according to whom?

Some women!

I don't agree or disagree with you Toody, I'm merely asking why and questioning your factual like statements. No offense, but you seem to do a lot of generalizing and speaking for the female population and pretty much every subject on how it's supposed to be.

Guess I'm being the devil's advocate and calling you on it. The only one you can really speak for is yourself.

People, both men and women have personal preferences... no particular one is right or wrong, just is! Different cultures have different beliefs... no particular one is right or wrong, just is!

Your way works for you, and that's okay. But that doesn't mean that if another does it different or believes different that they are wrong or not following proper etiquette.

Have a good night Toody waving

Most responses ,Personsl choices are what people list.

I do know women that feel the same about meeting online men!

I f you or others want to do different have at it Your way.

I 'm not saying their way is wrong but it is not what I do.

Who said I'm speaking for all women! Nope not all some, including me.

Forums are for everyone, topics people don't agree or don't like they don't have to post .

Calling me out not necessary Imho. We don't have to agree. I don't think I said it was Proper or factual statement. But it's mine.

You have a good night too.

Okay, maybe I misinterpreted what you were saying, and for that I apologize.

I guess I'm a little sensitive and this thread hit a sore spot with me. And perhaps I'm a little envious.

So far I've not had any men interested in traveling the distance to meet me. I've had one travel a short distance after I traveled part of the way, and that was very nice.

I have had a few express interest in meeting me, but due to work schedules, finances, whatever... they couldn't but if I wanted to go meet them, I was more than welcome to do so.

A part of me totally understands that kind of stuff, but then I read threads like this and it makes me want to cry!

Am I just a gullible fool? I suppose I am! whoa

I have heard others say, including men, that if the woman were really that important, the man would go to them. So am I to take that as meaning I don't really matter to those who have asked me to come visit them, or have said I'm welcome to visit them because they aren't able to?

So I really do owe you an apology Toody flowerforyou my irritability isn't really with you... it's with this whole stinking subject you brought up frustrated

Sis ... there will be someone someday who will go more than the distance for you. Maybe youve met him already or maybe not but he would be one smart guy to see that theres more to know about your sweet and beautiful soul behind that infectious smile flowerforyou i for one would travel to see someone but then would only do it when i know im safe and financially capable. A proposal to a first time meet up outside my country will only hapoen if it coincides with a personal vacation or business on my side. And i guess a free round trip ticket could help too  hugs and kisses to you sis flowers

No problem! All women don't think or do things alike, including meeting men online.

I was on the phone tonight talking to a man here in town never been married!
We met at my work he gave me his number in January and I just now called him! He was very excited and we talked 3 , hours.
I spoke to him on occasion at lunchtime.

I don't like to move to fast doing what any man thinks I should do.laugh

I don't spend hours online looking for a mate either.

In the old days I'd usually meet half way. Plus definitely meet mid week, no point in spoiling the weekend if she's not all that laugh

Online?! surprised noway

I at least proposed to my last wife in person... never mind the fact the ring was found in a parking lot laugh

Yes Men propose online. Same as throwing flowers, kisses, and hugs! :laugh
Cheap not real.

Wow was that a love spat!!! I

Putting a flowerforyou or flowers after a comment or message isn't the same as in real life. It's a symbol of compassion! Friendliness! And you know what? It might just brighten up someone's day!
Don't forget,
this whole thing is not real if you put it like that tongue2 actually. I can put more of the tongues as they are not real so tongue2 tongue2 laugh

Online proposals mean little until I meet him in nperson!
Sounds convincing thou! smitten Can anyone relate to this experience ?
Proposal for a spousal commitment that is!!

Maybe the guy wants some guarantee of success. If he is going to travel thousands of miles to meet the girl, he wants to know she is going to say yes, he doesn't want to meet a time waster.

You mean the man's supposed to do the traveling? slaphead

So if the woman travels to the man, would that give him ample guarantee, or at least a clue that she's serious?

@ Pisces, I would say that at least 98% of the women that I have met over the years refuse to travel to see me. They've always wanted me to do all the traveling. Even the shortest of distance. In the beginning, I didn't mind. I was raised that as a man I'm supposed to do the pursuing.

But, it didn't take me but a few times of running into too many that didn't mind wasting my time, and my money, for me to put a stop to it. I'll make the first move. But after that, if she doesn't come to see me, that's the end of that. A total turnoff. And the money thing, I don't mind paying. But over the years I've met many that will go out with a guy that they have no interest in at all, except for a free meal.

I've been on a lot of dates the past ten or so years. Out of all those women, maybe 8 or 10 were willing to split things with me. The rest, just a waste of time. As I've already said, it's hard for me to talk myself into traveling 20 miles now to meet someone.

The topic is about online proposals, and I got slightly off topic. I've actually had online proposals outside of the forums, but most of us know what that's all about slaphead winking

As far as what I said last night, I guess I am pretty sensitive at times. Sometimes I'm practical and reasonable, other times I'm that romantic silly woman who wants the knight in shining armor to come dashing to her and carry her away smitten slaphead

Both men and women say if the man truly cares and is genuinely interested, then they would travel the distance, and both say otherwise. The women want the man to come to her because it's the gallant/traditional thing to do. It's more romantic and honorable in some silly way. And now some men want the women to come to them because they are tired of wasting their time and money, which in a lot of ways I don't blame them for feeling that way.

To me it doesn't matter who goes to who... For the most part. There's a part of me that wants that romantic knight in shining armor thing, but it doesn't always work like that in reality. In Florida, I was in the position to do the traveling, so it made more sense. Now I'm not because I'm working and to leave during one of my assignments would cost me my job. I can only travel between jobs now. It's the same way with men, some really can't.

So doing what makes sense is the better choice. If it's more feasible for him, then he travels... if it's more feasible for her, then she travels.

I believe the important thing is whether or not the two are communicating, making a commitment to eventually meet, and BOTH working towards making that happen. And it's between those two people to determine what's reasonable and who does the initial traveling.

And yes, definitely a round trip ticket would help, lol. bigsmile

Hugs and Kisses Sis  flowers
