Excellent points but I want to point out what Notbeold mentioned about displacing marine life. We have overrun this planet as humans, using the land of the native animals for farming and our own habitation, eating and consuming everything in sight. Many animals and sea life have become extinct as a result. We need to make these advances and innovations without usurping the space of marine life and animals, showing respect for their space and valuing them.

Richard Branson is on the pulse with his space programs and travel programs. Currently he is working on launching the hyperloop. The idea of the transport system — conceived in 2013 by Musk, the head of both electric automaker Tesla and SpaceX — works by propelling pods through tubes using magnets reaching speeds akin to those of airplanes.

Who else is on par with Branson and Musk today and what are their contributions?

I refuse to believe that everything is doom and gloom. There are always genius solutions to every problem if we think outside the box. I am not a hopeless dreamer but I am not a cynical downer either. Hope springs eternal.

Dreamer? Imagine

The great John Lennon agrees with you, and for what it’s worth I do.

I think slowly but surely the world is wakening to our self destruction, I know from my attitude when I was young and the difference in attitude my kids have to some of these problems. But it will take decades, let’s hope it’s not too late.

I believe it starts with parents.

See, this is why our over-population issue is so bad.
No matter what we try to do it is going to disrupt nature.
An exodus to space is the least invasive route but if we found a habitable world that we could get to, we would invade and displace its natural ecology too.

We don't exist in harmony with nature. We change things to fit ourselves and sometimes, nature adapts to our changes, sometimes.
We pave over nature. Our wars destroy the ecology. When chimpanzees war, they don't destroy the whole forest. At most they might break some branches or uproot some bushes but they don't burn it down and poison it for generations. We do.

We rip up the seabed and spray the sand on our beaches.
We make products that are not biodegradable and throw them in the ocean.
We make islands, dig out riverbeds, pave over land, dam rivers, contaminate watersheds and a whole slew of other things that effect the balance of the ecology all in the name of progress to maintain an ever-growing population.

Those mega projects I suggested, the recycling efforts I suggested are merely ideas that allow humans to continue as we are because that is how most people think. They ignore the real problem...

Too Many People.

first -> know more wars...to much $ going to it and is lost in the... process and who knows where it went ... we could help the whole world ...
if this did not have to happen ...

clean water not taking land that does not belong to you ... and using for other countries ... while hurting and killing those who try an fight the wrong deeds of others ... we could feed the world ... this could wipe out poverty ... in many places ... people are not stupid... they need our Ideas to have this come true for them ... and not by taking from them ... agree have to come up with what to do with our garbage ... it is hurting our environment ... so many things can be made from recyclables... fix our water issues in this country from pollution and hurting people and killing them ...

and fix our roads and bridges ... clean up the neighborhoods ... to give those a chance in stead of turning to hard drugs & crime ... these people get addicted becouse they have know hope for them selves to do any thing better and to escape their life ... do you know N Koren and the south Koren talk our making the war machines panic becouse of all the $ they will loose ... if their is peace ... mostly all the peace is ... is paying them off ... something like the mafia but much higher up ... very sad life ... for those who understand the world ... and their surroundings ...make know mistake this also is a thanks for all the good of those who our doing so much to help others for a better life ->

Soundproof walls, windows and curtains mandated in all new buildings to cut down on the nuisance of noisy neighbors.

8. Quieter construction equipment to eliminate noise from the streets.
_____________________________________________________________________

Building commercial structures in NYC I go thru this almost daily. People ( residents) complaining to me about my equipment, crews cranes, ect ect.

I listen politely.. then point to all the permits I have on the walls giving me the legal(and paid) right to use those machines and equipment. If they continue I tell them to take it up with the mayor.

People love to move to NYC ( Mostly people not from NYC)and once they do move there... they want to change it to fit them.

NYC is loud.. noisy... all the time.. don't accept that... then move out... cause it ain't gonna change.
