From iam_resurrected
Proverbs 23:14
Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell.

So basically iam_resurrected is making my argument for me. If one can escape (or be delivered) from "hell" then others can as well.

This proves that "hell" is not "eternal."

According to the KJV, anyway.

Unless the word 'sheol' means something other than "hell."

Actually no one is making your argument for you.

The "deliver his soul from hell " part in that verse doesn't imply that ones soul is already there, it means to prevent ones soul from going to hell through correction.

Hell is where the lost go when they die until the final judgment.
You can call it whatever you like.
The dark place of doom for all I care, but it exists, just like Paradise exists for those believers who have passed.

Both temporary places until after the final judgment.

I will say this, if one doesn't believe in the deity of Christ then most of what you believe will be distorted and most likely wrong .

Some words didn't exist in certain languages to translate other words.

But, that doesn't mean the concept of the truth of the word isn't credible.

It isn't about giving glory to God it is about "look at me" I'm super spiritual with my up to date "pure" translation of the Bible.

The use of the KJV has realistically led more people to the saving grace of God then any other English version.

Sometimes one can get so "literal" with the Word of God that the very words actually lose the essence of the intent .

KJV, full of life and color.

CLV, no life and no color.

KJV, like a Lamborghini.

CLV, like a rickshaw.

That is MHO.

What you say makes no sense.

"rescue his soul from the unseen" means rescue him from death.

There is no "hell." There is no ancient term for "hell" in the Scriptures.

Hell is where the lost go when they die until the final judgment.

Nowhere does the Bible say this.

There is no "hell" in the Scriptures. Certainly not on Earth.

Big D is one those people, because the word "hell" isn't written in the scriptures or the old testament it must not be true.

Well Electricity, Jet fighter planes, Tanks, Submarines,Lamborghini's aren't in the scriptures either yet they exist.

are we going quibble over words that means something different back then compared to now?

Every religion know to man describes the concept of Hell, are they all wrong?

Actually what I stated makes complete sense.
Don't put your misunderstandings of the truth as me not making sense.

I made no comment on "Every religion know to man." We call this a Strawman Argument.

What I am saying is that there is no "hell" in the Scriptures. There is no ancient term for "hell" as we use it.

"Sheol" is another way of describing death.

Interestingly enough, the ancient Jews/Israel did not have a "hell."

OK. Let's try this.

If you think there is a "hell" in the Scriptures, what is the ancient term from where it comes from?

Just sticking a word in the Bible with no origin makes no sense to me. Does that make sense to you?

Peter was the guards from the Sanhedrin coming and pulled out his sword. Luckily Batman and Robin were there to stop him and persuaded him to put his sword away.

Is it making sense now?

ironic, I'm doing a straw man because your straw man supersedes my straw man, making your straw man valid

Rightttt

I made my point on my last post.

are we going quibble over words that means something different back then compared to now?

I am not quibbling. I simply stated a fact. There is no "hell" in the Scriptures. There is no ancient term that means "hell" as we know it.

I don't see any facts that you have posted here.

for Yeshua to basically divide people into 2 categories [for/against], it would make sense if those for Him go to heaven, then those against him go to hell.

this is not a thread condemning people. this is a common sense response based off the scripture i provided. so there are only 2 possible answers, like there are only 2 possible choices when we think about Yeshua [we are either for Him or we are against Him]!!

Do you ever suppose people condemn themselves and hell is the life they live?
The choices they make produce grief and misery such that their world is filled with darkness.

facts, in the New Testament Hell is mentioned even by Jesus himself , why it wasn't mentioned in the Old testament , there wasn't any place to present Hell at least according to biblical scholars

During the intertestamental period Heaven and hell is mentioned in detail.
