when I say individualism i'm referring to the economic system of a society, not socially.

Community is always important and speaking of community , your American society used to be a community, particularly in smaller towns and suburbs but it didn't always extend to certain groups and this where the government drop the ball.

I blame racism squarely on the government followed by media.

I don't believe technology is isolating most folks, I think those with limited social skills are hampered by technology particularly the social and dating sites.

Back in my day kids at school were forced to do activities with other kids, play , exercise and encouraged to socialized.

Today not so much, today we are worried about offending people , parents hands are tied when it comes to discipling their children assuming they have the maturity to even be parents.

Teachers are not equipped to deal with the problems of today's youth lack of discipline and respect.

Kids today are not taught how to cope and deal with issues, instead of learning how to cope they are medicated beyond what they should be , their diet is poor, limited or lack of exercise , lack of respect and poor education producing sheeples.

Look at today's colleges and universities, it used to be an institution where thinkers met and are developed, today its producing sheeples , pansies and spoiled brats and you wonder why school shooting have increased?

Technology is causing isolationism.
Automated factories, cell phones, home gaming systems, home delivery, in-store pickup, and on and on...
All keeping people from interacting with each other.

Racism is rampant but the inequality is beyond race or gender or religion now. People are bigoted to other people in general. Prejudiced against anyone not within their shrinking circle of trust. Strangers are to be feared, untrustworthy and avoided.

It all perpetuates thru the generations to a larger degree over time.
The insecurities of the parents are taught to their children as life lessons. Often by example not by instruction. Children learn by watching the adults in their lives. If the parents don't have time to teach their children, their children will learn their life lessons from other sources, even bad sources.

All this is called progress Tom, what is wrong with that? have you ever done factory work? its dull , boring, I watched one of my friends dad work in one and he looked so bored, working for a paycheque at a job to survive is a horrible way to live.

all those technologies produced jobs that werent available decades ago, and higher paying jobs.

racism and inequities are two different topics

Ask yourself why racism exists today Tom?

As in inequity that is another topic for another day, people are bigoted towards people, its always been that way Tom, every ethnicity known to man has experienced bigotry, that is just mankind

It doesn't make it right but its reality, I rather face bigotry in an advanced society vs a second or third world society.

Maybe they shouldn't have had children, this is a valuable lesson to teach to teenagers and those in their early 20's who believe raising children as a single parent is a right because they can reproduce.

Those with higher education and of a higher socio economic status understands this more than those on the lower scale.

Watch now a certain poster will accuse me of being bigoted to the poor.

( which is not the case)

I'm not saying they are not. I just saying technology isolates. You are making an assumption that I think technology is bad but that's not how I view it at all.
At one time the community came together to form a human chain to throw buckets of water on a fire. Now we use pressurized hoses manned by a few firefighters. Just an example of technology causing isolationism.

Racism and inequities are two different things but I didn't write inequity, I wrote Inequality.
Racism is rampant but the inequality is beyond race or gender or religion now.
I am not bigoted and I am not an ethnicity. I am a person. There are also other 'people' that are not bigoted. To try to say that people are bigoted towards people is an error. Some people are bigoted against some people but not all people are bigoted against all people.
People are bigoted to other people in general.

Maybe they shouldn't have had children

Maybe the Sun should have exploded?
Maybe every infant should be rendered sterile at birth?
Maybe, maybe, maybe?

A radical shift in thinking is needed to resolve these issues.
Changing from a wealth/power motivation to always win to a sharing and helping motivation.
Then parents would have time to teach their children the value of being fair and responsible.
Wealth and power (greed) now directs the human condition.
There are people that are not motivated by wealth and power and they do teach their children responsibility and fairness. They are fully in their children's lives setting examples and teaching morals and values. These parents break the cycles degrading family integrity. They do what I call "Active Parenting". I know, because I was an active parent and I know others that are active parents. Because I was an active parent, my children are now active parents. My parents were not active parents, I chose to change/break the cycle with my own family. It can be done because I did it.

and it used to take all day to put out major fires when today it takes hours.

I still don't understand why that is a problem?

first thing wealth and greed doesnt direct human condition , I dont why people on the left keep saying that.

Yes there are people out there not motivated by financial gains and that is okay but then they shouldnt complain they dont have enough either and be envious of those that has financial success either.

I still don't understand why that is a problem?

Isolationism is part of the problem not the technology.
Its cause and effect.
There are other things that contribute to isolationism, in addition to technology. Personally, I like technology.

first thing wealth and greed doesnt direct human condition

Really? Are you even aware of what you write? Read what you wrote again.
wealth and greed doesnt direct human condition
I'm not even going to acknowledge your feeble attempt to degrade me by trying to lump me into a group.

Obviously, your motivations for participating in this thread are for argumentative purposes and not discussion or enlightenment.

Ive also said and acknowledged that some people are not motivated by financial gains.

Why you think Im labelling you is beyond me, I don't sugar coat things, I will tell you straight up Tom .

Maybe you should re read what I actually posted.
