I think most of us do learn as we age. What we don't do is make changes to how we do things or what we believe just because of what we hear or see. For that to happen, we need to have more than one positive experience with something. No new experience = no change; a negative experience = a possible rant and certainly sharing that experience with others; several positive experiences = a change in us and suggesting to others they should try this new also. Often, depending on age and experience, we have a different perception of the outcome of something. You may see it as positive while I see it as negative.

I think many people get wiser with age, at least those who have had challenges that they made it through. If a person hasn't experienced some things in life , they haven't got a clue as to what others that have are talking about.

I f a person has learned from bad experiences, they don't become bitter or mean but have a better outlook for their Future.

IMO

It may be down to some following inane trends like sheep and not caring for what consequences it could bring in the future.
