The Last Kingdom -- based on the times of King Alfred, began on BBC but now picked up by one of the cable networks

The Hitman's Bodyguard -- Ryan Reynolds paired with Samuel L. Jackson

Gold -- Matthew McConaughey as a down on his luck prospector

Thank you for mentioned the Hitman's Bodyguard, Actionlynx!
I just watched it and what a great movie! I sure as hell laughed a lot, hihi.
That moment when Ryan Reynolds is shot off through the windshield, the look on Samuel L Jackson's face, then saying something like, "You broke the seatbelt rule?" hahaha.

I read a rumor that they are making The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard (2020)
Stars: Tom Hopper, Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L. Jackson, Salma Hayek, Morgan Freeman, Frank Grillo, Antonio Banderas to name a few.
Should be a lot of fun!

TV series: The BEST IMO ever "HELL ON WHEELS"!

Starts in 1865 at the end of the war. They main character is Cullen Bohannon, confederate officer. He goes home to Meriddian, MS and finds his wife raped and murdered, his son and one remaining "slave" (who raised him) also murdered. He starts a vengeful guest to hunt down and kill the dozen or so men who were in the yankee platoon that did it. He needs work so like many he starts work on the Union Pacific RR just as they cross the Missouri river at Council Bluffs/Omaha. The show has a great many plot twists and is extremely well written by the Gayton bros. It's also very historically correct which is important to me esp. since it takes place right here where I live now.
It wasn't cancelled or that sort of thing, they had a story to tell and told it in 5 seasons. It was on AMC for 5 years ending 3/4 years ago.
If you watch the first episode you'll be hooked!
It just doesn't get any better...

I thought Matthew McConnaughey was great in The Dark Tower. One of his best performances.

I think The Last Kingdom was picked up by Showtime.

But have you tried watching the John Wick series?

Dark Tower with Idris Elba love
I cannot believe it wasn't a big hit. I loved the movie! But as far as I know there's not going to be another one :(

I have seen John Wick, yes. There's a 3rd one on it's way :)
And I will watch the Last Kingdom again, good news! The only bummer is there's so much time in between now that I cannot remember all the characters, haha.

Another hidden one that I found after checking out The Code (thank you for that recommendation, I enjoyed it) was a series on Amazon with Tim Roth called Tin Star.

And one I watched a long time ago, that I may have mentioned, is called Life about a zen cop who served time for a crime he didnt commit, and returns to his job very wealthy solving crimes, while trying to figure out who framed him and why. It was a very good series, but I think the lead actor may have been offered his part in the showtime series BIllions around the end of the first season, and left the show.

Oh yes, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (2017) is an outstanding movie!
I love the way they shot it, a bit like they did 300. And Charlie Hunnam, great actor!!

I just watched "Cell". I did enjoy it, the end of it not so much.
Number of the others from your earlier posting I cannot get going. It's becoming increasingly difficult.

Red & Taken 1-3 I have seen. I may watch Red again, cannot remember much of it. Taken movies are excellent! I'd hoped the series would be too, but yeah... not the same without Liam, is it!

Cold pursuit is a bit of noir movie. I often like Liam Neeson, but this movie I won't watch a 2nd time.
What I found weird is that no one seems to have any emotions, not even when loved ones end up dead.

I watched Hitman, was okay. I didn't like the sequel without Timothy Elephant so I switched it off. (the man must have Dutch ancestry: Dutch word for elephant = olifant.)

ANother one that's nice, don't think I mentioned it; Momentum
