On a dating site where you can post quizzes for the other gender to answer, and thus also answer theirs yourself... Question: What are you looking for here: a long term relationship B friendship C ONS Now, this needs some explanation... this is on a DUTCH dating site, and in Dutch "ons" means "us". So I'm reading it and I find myself thinking, "You arrogant S O B!! There is no 'us', I haven't even spoken to you yet!" I decide the man is not for me. But then I came across it a few more times, which had me wondering what the heck "ONS" was supposed to mean, Googled it... ALRRIGHTY.. that explains a lot Stupid thing is, I keep forgetting all these BS dating abreviations so I almost fell for the same thing the other day, thinking, "You arrogant son of a gun!!" If you had some funny or odd dating site experience, feel free to share it, but I did NOT start this for people to rant and biotch. We have enough of that already

That's hilarious! I had to think on that for a little bit, I wouldn't have gotten it either unless I looked it up. I can't think of anything at the moment Crystal, the abbreviations get me though, I usually need to look them up and even then I'm sometimes confused because some have several meanings, like your "ons" incident.

HELLO PRETTY The idea is to come up with fun experiences, not frustrations. There's plenty of rant topics as it is :) And I'm quite sure I'm not the only one who also has had funny, maybe even slightly embarrassing, experiences when it comes to dating and/or being on dating sites.

almost as funny as the abbreviations is sussing out other places' slang especially here on a a site like mingle. some of your dutch english ones have me rolling on the floor crystal

It was odd to me, the first couple of guys who said they were looking for an auntie. What are you talking about? Figured it was a term for older women in some countries. That is not used in The United States.

Just to be sure no one gets offended on here... I'm not talking about anything that happened to me on Mingle, nor about any of the Mingle members. If you have something funny to share but it's rather personal, please don't if it concerns a M2 member. Thanks! One other thing comes to mind now... also on another dating site, not on here... I was ranting a few days ago about having seen a few men with chins like Quagmire (Family Guy). Shortly thereafter I had an admirer of one of my photos on that same site, so I wanted to know who it was, curious of course. I clicked to see the man's photo, and NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! It was that same guy with a chin a mile long that I had ranted about Sod's law... (We have this expression in Dutch "God punishes immediately", that's kinda how I felt, having ranted about the man, hihi)
