One of my favorite movies of all time along with Pure Country. 8 Seconds always makes made me sad being it's a true story about the life and tragic death of supposedly one of the kindest and most admired World Champions in the history of Professional Rodeo Lane Frost and his good friend Champion Tuff Hedeman.

Now I can barely watch the movie since the actor that played Lane Frost, Luke Perry tragically died recently. Ironically he was the same type of man, very well admired and not a single person has said a bad word about him. It's now a movie I don't think I can ever watch again and that sucks because it is such a beautiful movie. tears

If you haven't seen it, it's well worth watching! Luke Perry completely nailed the part of Lane Frost.

RIP to two great men!

Well I don't know anything about Luke Perry as a person But it was an excellent movie about bull riders. Bull riders are a breed all their own, if you've never had the desire, the lust to do something so badly that's so dangerous you won't really get it, I felt the same way about racing back about 1980 when I was racing stock cars. It's an all consuming thing. I had a first cousin that was a very promising bull rider about that same time who was killed by a drunk driver leaving a young wife and three little kids. I gave it a try twice when I was sixteen, ten feet tall and bulletproof and I can say this; those guys are crazy.
Crazier than I was at the time and folks..........that was pretty crazy!

Both great movies... I actually have a long sleeve cotton shirt that I wore to one of the Rodeo's that Tuff Hedeman was at here in Fort Worth... At the end of the Rodeo they let fans go down and all of the ones in the Rodeo Clowns and all will come around in a line and sign stuff.. I had them all sign my shirt did not have paper so figured what the heck it is a light blue cotton thick t-shirt material they all had black markers...has never been washed... or wore since that day..

Actually found it in the closet the other day think I have had it since the middle to late 90's..

As far as Bull-riding that takes a special person for sure... My son tried it for a bit from about 6-12 years old.. One of my cousins in Hobbs NM was a Rodeo Clown for years.. that is a job I would not do either... it is a very tough life...

I have fell off my horse a few times when I had horses and believe me that hurts and well with a bull they will come back to stomp your azz.

Tuff Hedeman had his face crushed in when Bodacious reared back and hit him in the face crushing most of the bones in his face..
