Yes it matters... Everything matters, everything is matter! Without "this", "that" couldn't exist. Each of us is a precious puzzle piece of the greater picture of existence... destroy, mangle, or ignore one piece and it changes the picture or makes it incomplete. Our mission is to treasure each piece and heal the broken pieces so that the greater picture can be as it was intended to be when we first began our journey of existence.... Heaven on Earth... or perhaps a better way of saying it would be living in a peaceful, loving way with all humanity and all that exists.
