Yes it's typically English. I used to have a crush on felicity kendal when I was young. she never answered any of my letters We all liked Felicity Kendal Mikey :) OT pies. I'm a pretty good cook, Best wat is don't have too much moisture in the filling. Grease and flour the tin, and cover the top of the pie with tin foil or a baking tray on a shelf, for about 15 minutes to allow the bottom to start cooking first.

This is certainly the funniest topic in a long while. But what could one expect with 'soggy bottoms' for a title, haha. I like Steve's tip!!! And Delightfull's oven thingie. The best oven ever was from a gas furnace. Even heat throughout. Never had an electric oven that could come close. I would like to know how these porcelain beads worked out? They were for the oven right? Not the soggy bottom?

Morning crystal, you put the beads on top of the pie base to help heat and keep the shape by stopping it rising.

I hadn't until recently. You can use rice to but seems a bit of a waste

I prefer to get something that goes BLEEP PING!!! after 6 mins in the microwave (I know that ain't healthy) or other ready meals. I so don't like cooking I'm trying to get back to cooking myself, I did so for 6 years, almost every day, but really don't enjoy it.
