So, my youngest cat, Mr.Jinx, has taken to sleeping on my bed overnight again. He also wakes up every two or three hours purring furiously, prods me with half-sheathed claws until I sit up. He then walks to and fro in front of me several times before nuzzling me furiously and then settling down again, usually on the other side of the bed. Cats: if we didn't exist, they'd have to invent us

Typical meow behavior ;-)
This week mine has taken to hanging out on top of the stove (residual heat I am thinking, with the A/C on) and does not stray from there..last week he luved the porch. And those sweet claws, they are bonding, of course ;-) I luv my Fred. |

Cats are quite impossible to resist, I agree I think they change their sleeping spots regularly, so as not to be predictable and, of course, because they want to.

You are right...impossible to resist. I had never even been around one when 5 were born in my garage and abandoned the same day..weeks of bottle feeding there. Love at first sight ;-) I think it takes a person willing to give another person leeway in their lives, to appreciate the cat kingdom. Independent thinking rules ;-) |

One of mine use to 'nose' you to get attention, really hard as well. One night he did that when I was in bed, watching something on telly before sleeping. I'd just had a nose operation... B@st@rd hit me right on the nose.

The famous "Cat Opera" in the middle of the night? Sure, they wanna tell us, we neglected them all day

He's now taken to sleeping on top of my wardrobe and only wakes me about dawn for breakfast.

Sounds like he's settled in.
Cats do prefer the higher ground though. Just a natural cat thing. |

Yep, the higher the better usually.
