I am so bothered by the recurrence of the people claiming we are at the end times. "The signs are everywhere". That is bunk. Don't they realize people have said the exact same thing for thousands of years.

Heres what I need. I know the earth will be here for eon's and eon's people will be here for many thousands of years. I want a way to make a wager with these nuts. Can anyone figure out a way to make bet based on these two belief's. I will bet that we will be here for the next 10,20,30 years the end of times person will say no it is ending soon.

LOL, I agree with Different!

Even if you "win" how the hell do you collect???

Plus, it may not be the "end times" from the "religious" stand point...but also your "theory" could be wrong. an asteroid could hit the earth, sending it out of its orbit and the earth plunges into the sun and it all goes "bye-bye".

WHO KNOWS???? NO ONE KNOWS!!!!

I can say this, I will bet you $1,000.00 CASH that my "theory" is the winner...that is " NO ONE KNOWS!" bigsmile

You're absolutely right. It's gotten to where I don't even pay any attention to them whatsoever. Even if we do have things happening, in daily life, that are comparable to what's in the Bible, they act as if they are prophets and can tell the future. Not good.

What I find interesting is rabbit's unshakable belief he'll be around for the next 30 years at least and have memory retention of the bet. I truly do not plan a year in advance, let alone 30.

I think we are near the end times, there were prophecies that were ignored by previous generations. Israel was destroyed in 70 AD and nearly 2000 years later, it was reborn. The Middle East is the center of conflict in the modern world. A country that comprises less than 1% of the middle east is the lynch pin to world peace. We now have the alliance between Iran and Russia, which is spoken of in the Bible. We may not be close to the end of the world, but we are one day closer than we were yesterday.

Keep the ice cream, just give me the pie. I actually think it's better after a couple days in the fridge, so that the flavors have time to mingle.

so rabbitt this is where we are...

Rev 6:5-8

5 And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.

6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.

This is not far off. 7 And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see.

8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

Shalom..Miles

very true, much accurate information. to attempt to put a day on the end of the world or a time line we would have to be God

There will always be delusional people who continue to believe in ancient mythologies.

The bottom line is that there are no indications whatsoever that any of theses there are even remotely true.

The claim that the world is becoming increasingly ‘sinful’ is utter nonsense. The facts just don’t match the delusions. These people would have really been deluded had they lived through a world war.

I’m not concerned with placing any bets, because like someone else said, the world could end for reasons totally unrelated to any ancient myths. Anything’s possible.

The human race has only just been born. For a creator to have designed some pre-planed endgame that would begin anytime soon is delusion beyond the delusional. This would be like giving birth to a baby and then killing it when it’s two weeks old. That’s about where the human race is in their geological time scale. In fact, they might only be a few days old in comparison with the potentiality of how long they could actually survive in this universe.

Carl Sagan had imagined humans living far beyond anything that most laymen can even begin to comprehend. People like Kip Thorn and others have humans outliving the earth, the solar system and even our galaxy! Some String Theorists even suggest humans might potentially outlive this universe! How could that be possible you ask? Well, in String Theory there are parallel universes to our. They suggest the possibility of becoming so advanced that we could actually learn how to slip out of this universe and into another one!

Just goes to show how limited the thinking is of those who believe we are in the end days. laugh

It’s amazing at the different abilities of people to think imaginatively.

Ok So now I need some of you very smart people to help me create the bet. Something like Ill bet you $100 against me doing your laundry for the 1st 1 million years of the afterlife.

Something like that.

As far as if I would be alive or not to collect in 30 years all proceeds could go to my decedents.

I wouldn't take that bet. The truth is that I have no way of knowing if we will be in the same afterlife, so I don't know that you would be able to fullfill your obligation.
