I've never heard of this or the burning man festival. I checked out your link and googled a little more about it to get a better idea of what it's all about.

Seems like it's a bunch of people running amok and using the concept of "freedom of expression" to exploit others and act inhumane. Least that's what came to mind when reading about it.

Is there more to it than that?

It's a hippy dippy thing, that got it's start
on a beach in California, then moved to the
Black Rock Desert in Nevada.

Amazingly enough, it gets bigger, and goes
downhill at the same time.

It's basically 'Woodstock', for the mentally ill. laugh

laugh Okay, thanks for explaining. I kind of had a feeling it was like the peace movement that got out of control, and not in a good way... looks like I had the right picture in mind laugh

It actually wasn't that bad, for the first few
years... Even after it started getting huge.

Like with everything else,
tweekers screwed it up.

Yes, that seems to be the case with a lot of things. The sequels to movies are a good example of that as well... first one is great and by time they get to the 3rd one it's gone way off track from the original theme.

the authorities seemed very concerned over the broken tail light. Obviously the most important thing. They totally ignored the several thousand hippies staggering around, zonked out of their gourds.

Burning man is a strange event. I played with the idea of going, then I found out what it all entails.

Leave nothing but footprints.

Care to take wild guess what goes out? Everything.

You had to apply for permission to attend. $425? Not when I checked on it. $1000+, and be accepted to attend. Tents only. Better make your reservations Jan 2, (or the first monday of the year) Your get there vehicle can only be driven in, and out. It's a LONG drive for supplies, if you need them during the festival. On the other hand, if you'd like to walk about painted purple, and nothing else-enjoy yourself. Don't do anything to get yourself tossed out- no refunds. That anything is up to their staff. If you're even funny looking, they can give you the boot.

I can think of better ways to blow a lot of cash.

Oh sure. A festival glorifying male immolation, but one little female doll holocaust and it's waaah waah waah.

Other than that, I think E-Z-Bake ovens would have been far more apropos.

No need to comment really

Isn't that what click bait articles are for?
