believe me or believe me not ok.
I'm a gay man who is trying to understand the mind-set of gay russian men. I've had limited success in cultivating some genuine non-sexual friendships. But it's depressing when the ones that failed, were because money was required for this or that. I know that life for gay men is bloody awful, and perhaps it's why so many are predatory, and have below the surface, this veneer of coldness. And they yearn for what other gay men have here. In the UK. Complete freedom,to be who we are. To love and be loved, by another man. Which is what I guess, we all want.
I don't understand, I just don't..

I just KNEW there were Russian agents in the UK! laugh

Life is "bloody awful" for a LOT of men, not just gay men. Relationshits are difficult for everybody as long as money is made scarce and laws are passed to favor corporations instead of people.

What interests you so much about Russian men?

Hey
Do you know Russia follows the Christian Orthodox religion? and they are verystrict about it. If you dont know that.....This religion and being gay are like oil and water. So if you are smart.....

Thankfully for him he doesn't have to live in Russia. And I'm sure not all Russians are religious either.

I didn’t think Russian men were allowed to be gay. Shhhhh!

"Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people in Russia face legal and social challenges not experienced by non-LGBT persons. Although same-sex sexual activity between consenting adults in private was decriminalized in 1993,[1] homosexuality is disapproved of by most Russians, and same-sex couples and households headed by same-sex couples are ineligible for the legal protections available to opposite-sex couples. There are currently no laws prohibiting discrimination based on sexual orientation in Russia. Transgender people are allowed to change their legal gender following sex reassignment surgery, however, there are currently no laws prohibiting discrimination based on gender identity or expression and recent laws could discriminate against transgender residents. Homosexuality has been declassified as a mental illness since 1999 and although gays and lesbians are legally allowed to serve openly in the military, there is a de facto "Don't ask, don't tell" policy."

We all are...Things change so fast we can barely keep up with what's in or what's out. Trying to catch up with these times is like a race between a cyclist and a pilot in a Sukhoi Su-57 jet.

OT ... I don't care, what sexual orientation someone has, everybody should have the right to be happy the way he or she is. And it is a pity, that a modern country like Russia has problems thinking the same. Is this confined to rural areas? Or even to be found in urban areas?

Hello.
The Russian men who have contacted me, and I believe many of them are genuine, beneath the surface I sense desperation. To be accepted. To love and be truly loved by another man. I just find the situation awful.

Religion in this world had a lot to answer for! Abuse within the Catholic Church, the total acceptance of homosexuality in Ireland and many other countries, mailny Muslim. Religion really has nothing whatever to do with falling in love with a person of the same sex. Nothing at all.
