When I was married, I had a minor surgery and needed support from my husband that I did not get. When I was a kid I had a lot of operations and I have a huge fear of hospitals. As an adult, when I was married, I felt alone because he sat in the corner. I had to go really, deep inside myself to talk to the nurses and doctors to get through it.

More and more people like your husband are being created every day. Sad to say. When you get married you are taking on that other person's problems as well as their joys. Some are unable to do so because they never learned responsibility (or forced). A man needs to love, respect and cherish his wife.

I've had a couple of experiences lately related to this topic! Just this morning, walking into the gas station I held the door for the woman behind me and promptly got cursed up one side and down the other! Fine start to the day.

About a week ago it was drizzling as I came out of the grocery store. A nicely dressed woman was standing by her car, with a flat tire. I stopped and offered to change it for her, so her clothes wouldn't be ruined. She started screaming, making wild accusations and threatening to call the cops. I just shook my head and went on my way.

Yes, I too see women asking what happened to chivalry. Incidents like these are what happened to it. Personally, I'm not going to change due to it. Most ladies smile nicely and say thank you; I've had crummy days where that was all it took to turn my day around. The ones who don't appreciate it, in my personal experience are anecdotal and I refuse to allow them to drag me down to their level.

I’m curious spacecodet, why are you on a dating site if you have such a low
opinion of women? Does this help you in your search?

I have hope that there's women who still haven't been completely lost to being feminists. I'm guilty of being a sappy guy.

I don’t think the way to that woman’s heart is by making sweeping negative statements
about women. If you base your opinions on youtube videos or other social media then
you are are seeing a very skewed mindset that certainly does not represent the majority
of women. True feminism is about equality for ALL, there are extremists that have have
taken advantage of that to turn it into man-hating. Don’t judge every book by it’s cover.

Overall, this whole thing seems to be about blaming and punishing ALL WOMEN for what a few individuals did.

And even worse than that, is advocating the idea that the reason to behave "chivalrously" is in order to trick women or bribe them into liking you.

There is only ONE honorable reason to behave "chivalrously," and that is because you want to honor and behave according to your own high standards of comportment.

If you are doing it to try to "buy" favor, it isn't chivalry, it's manipulation.

And if you've decided to dedicate yourself to being rude to all women, because one was snotty to you earlier, all you're doing is confirming that the rude woman's prejudices about you were correct.
