You could put a message in your nearest youth / traveler's hostel notice board, or local paper. Or just go alone where you want to go, and meet like minded new friends there.

I'm in Australia, in the south. The suburban beaches are nice, they have shops, and pine trees instead of palm trees. The un-polluted country beaches are often deserted, not even a footprint, and we have a couple of beaches 100 Km long or more, with the Great Southern Ocean rolling in. It's cold in winter, and hot and dry in summer here. There are no theme parks, or performing dolphins in aquariums. There is wildlife, geology, clean beaches, museums, hotels, and ocean sunsets.
