Topic: How does it pick people.... really?

I'm suspecting Mingle2 doesn't necessarily choose people to show you based on an allover similarly to your profile, and here's why: when started here I noticed almost everyone was a white person close to my age. But as weeks went to months I was being shown more profiles of people of African descent, and more younger people. Am I just imagining things or is Mingle2 changing priorities to show me more people with individual traits, instead of general profile matches?

Imagination (you have only been here 5 weeks/4 days, not 'months')
but matches are based solely on your stats as submitted..location
being the first.

When you see more potentials, it is because the list fills in like
a stone thrown into a pond, in ever widening circles, turning
up more people in ranges outside your preferences.

Hope this helps ;-)

It does, to a point, but why do I keep getting sent people's profiles from Texas and California if I live in MN?

I would guess they are meeting your other criteria
and are in the pool.
