I was 2 1/2 years old.
My father was pushing my older sister and myself in our red wagon,
across a busy street in downtown Oakland, CA, then down
to the bank.

When we went downhill they made me sit in the back but when we went
uphill I had to sit in the front.

I did not like that.
I threw a fit ;-)

Aaw bless. 2 and a half that's pretty early. you're in the lead

The earliest memory I have is, believe it or not, is when I started school at 5 years old. I remember the classroom very well. I remember my teacher very well. We would sit on the floor and she would teach us songs to sing. That's weird, my first memory has nothing to do with my family.

wow. not before 5 years

I remember my first day at school well. The teacher, Mrs Barnard telling us a story about a little bird that had falllen out of it's nest. I can remember almost crying, for this poor little bird.

Poetry, why did you get spanked?

Well cat, from what I can remember I was running and sliding on the floor on my knees after I was told to sit down. In other words I was being a kid. But I have matured since then. laugh

Traumatic to say the least. And to top that off the teacher was my cousin. I think that was why parents didn't do anything about it.

I remember still being on the boob. And the first time I got cold water in my bottle instead of milk.
Probably as a 6 months old baby, in summer time, in a crib or stroller.
At first I thought 'what a rip off - no milk, what's this awful stuff', and I thought it must be safe to drink, since mum gave it to me, then I appreciated the non-gluggy non-yoghurtyness of it cooling me on a hot summer day.
So chlorinated water is the second thing I can remember tasting.

Honestly? you remember the boob? wow m8. Unless you were on the boob for an exeedingly long time, you possibly win the cookie.

Nobody believes me (I don't care) but I remember being inside my mother.
I remember trying to push the walls out.
I also remember the sensations of birth, the cold and bright lights.
Thing is, they are not really memories, more like experiences of sensations.

I think everyone can remember before being born and the process of being born but they hide themselves from those sensations, dismissing them as something else.

I remember being an infant and screaming because I was scared and hungry.
My parents had no bassinet. They put me in a dresser drawer (my older sister confirms this) and I remember being in that closed drawer, screaming so hard it hurt then the relief of the 'rescue' from my mother.

Flippin heck Tom. that's a bit further thaan the rest of us lol.
You could be right, it's all there somewhere.
Stuck in a closed drawer. wow

Falling on a fresh laid sidewalk when I was 3 1/2. Split my hand open needing 7 stitches.

Ooh nasty. Not the sort of thing to forget in a hurry. Well obviously I suppose

My earliest memory...
Watching aircraft take off & land.
I was, maybe, 3 years old.

Obsessed with flight ever since.

3 seems to be the time when we start to get things.

Thats just triggered an early one for me, being in a push chair, the first time a mototbike went pest. I was terrified.

Humm wow now that is a long time ago..

But I can remember back around 2 for I can remember the lay out of three of the houses we lived at.. all while I was under 5 years old..

Think the earliest was either when I had Pneumonia and was in the hospital for a week or when I fell off a horse and broke my collar bone..

When in the hospital I can remember everyone at the foot of my bed for my fever was so high.. And the Dr's could not get it to come down.. nor sure they could.. I woke up about that time asking why everyone was there.. Got lots of hugs and all the ice cream I wanted lmao

When I broke my collar bone they put my brother & step sister on first and me on the back.. Why I will never know for I was the smallest.. Then just let us go in a open pasture.. Hum horse got spooked or I nudged him in the flanks wanted him to go and well he went alright.. step sister fell off landed on a rock my brother fell off on top of her .. I was the last to fall off and only one that got hurt.. I remember getting on the horse and them putting me in the back seat of the car to take me to the hospital..
