That's a great idea, especially for folks with ailments. I had a friend do leg lifts, and arm circles at that rate you're talking about, as his back was really bad from a 4 story fall, and he was pretty much stuck to his recliner because of the pain. He lost 45 lbs. and could walk with less pain. He actually was on here in 2007-10. We called him "Fly".

Your idea totally works.drinker

waving thanks for sharing that story
Dark owl Your friend did the most important part, he struck with it:thumbsup:

Crystal is sticking to it alsoflowers

I still haven't hit my goal of 12 5 minutesgrumble laugh but I'm not stopping! If I only get 6 5minutes of exercise in that's still a half hour more than if I'd done nothing.

No walkie today, and no steps yet either. I've been busy all day long looking for another car, so I've spent a lot of time on the PC.
But... I did mow another large part of the lawn, and I pruned a lavender, sat outdoors for a short time. So I have been moving and away from PC. Might still do some steps later on, about to go into an online training first.

That sounds good, and super active, haha.

I've been away from PC, doing some dusting & cleaning, got some trash to the bin that should've been brought to paper and bottle bank. It all got much due to me stuck with my back and for once it's in the bin. All the paper and jars gone, kitchen tidy again, me feeling great about it!

And I just vacuumed big part of the downstairs area, including the stairs. Will do the living room in a minute.

At least I've been away from the PC and been physically active.
Cannot go for a walkie yet, have to wait for the post to arrive with my new speakers.

Almost 3 weeks since I started this thread 4 weeks since I started my own personal journey

I'm spending more and more of my free time working out and I'm feeling better every day.
The first month is always the roughest for me...
I always gain weight , which no matter who you are is depressinggrumble
In part it's my sluggish metabolism and in part, I'm building muscle
Muscle weighs more than fat
So I ignore the scales laugh and notice how everything is firming up and clothes are looser

This next month I'll continue to build muscle(muscle burns fat) and I'll start dropping pounds. Dropping weight isn't my main purpose(but who don't love getting rid of a couple of extra pounds:wink: )

How are y'all coming along? Any goals reached? It's not to late to start your own journey.

Crystal:heart: way to keep moving!
How are you coming with wanting to wear those sassy shorts this summer?

I started out good, but haven't kept up with it. And now I'm back to working full time. This last week was tiring, I completely lacked motivation to do anything once I got home.

Yesterday I needed chocolate chips so walked to the convenience store instead of driving. I definitely need to do that more often, lol. The weather is getting nicer, so on the days where it's not raining, I can walk to and from work.

I don't think the 5 minute thing will work very on the days I work an 8 hour shift, but I can at least fit in a 20 to 30 minute slot to do some kind of exercise. In addition to the 6 minute walk to and from work.

Great job KitKat and Crystal for sticking with it. flowerforyou drinker

You gotta do something to keep the biceps and triceps in shape!

OT - I'm still going for the most part, just not today. Short night. Yesterday I did do my walkie, was busy, today I've only cycled to the supermarket and back.
But that was fitness in itself with these strong winds, hihi.

Well, went for my walkie today, totally enjoyed it! Sun, birds, beautiful pink flowering trees, tulips are still in bloom etc etc.

After that did the first section of spraying weed. I hate doing that, but needs to be done, it's gotten too out of hand.
For me that's also fitness, stupid spray thing is made for dwarfs!
And again time away from the PC :)

Time away from the computer or TV is a great thing. laugh at least I think so I don't have a computer and rarely watch TV
Sounds beautiful crystal
I didn't get to walk today but I did work out.

Way to go rocklaugh don't strain anythingtongue2

River the hardest part is to keep doing it.... but just because you miss a day or week don't make it your reason to stop. Just keep starting again till it becomes habitflowers
5 minutes every hour or 30 minutes in the afternoon, the when and how don't matter, the important part is to keep moving.

I watch PC, I have an old tv, no flat screen, and it's not connected anymore. I do not like Dutch tv, nor commercial BS. So I watch what I like on PC.

More time away from the PC and moving around as I decided I had to wash a few windows.

Replaced the bog seat. I SWEAR that was about an hour's worth of fitness!
Back, leg, arm, bum, muscles, awkward bend. Absolutely wonderful. ohwell

I also did the lung strengthening exercises from Motivational Doc, like I did yesterday. Believe me, you DO feel that diaphragm!
