Yes, like a safe haven. I believe it is true for women as well, at least for me it is. Though I believe it may be tougher for men because of the stigma and conditioning men grew up with... that they are to be manly, strong, and are the ones who care for and protect the woman in their life. I believe a man wants that safe haven in a woman, for the woman to be that safe haven. Someone who they can 'just be' with. To lay down the sword and be all that they are, vulnerability and all.

Women are innately the nurturers, however, when it comes to men, we have difficulty nurturing them because it requires letting go of preconceived ideas and conditioning of what a man is "supposed" to be. That generally doesn't allow for human emotions such as fear, vulnerability, or any other emotion that is believed to be weak.

Another difficulty is the ability to nurture a man without treating him like a child, mothering him. Doing so while letting him hold his dignity can be challenging. It comes easy when it's a child in need of nurturing, and they need the mothering, to be taken care of. Men want and need to be cared for, not taken care of, imo.
