Topic: MCU Timeline | |
---|---|
I have all the MCU films.
I read somewhere awhile ago about how the timeline is ordered and I set my films to reflect that order. Granted, not really the best films but its fun to watch so as entertainment, okay. Just don't think about it too much. I'm thinking of changing the order a bit. What I currently have is: Marvel Cinematic Universe M1 Captain America: The First Avenger M2 Iron Man 1 M3 The Incredible Hulk M4 Iron Man 2 M5 Thor 1 M6 The Avengers 1 M7 Iron Man 3 M8 Thor: The Dark World M9 Captain America: The Winter Soldier M10 Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 1 M11 Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 M12 The Avengers: Age of Ultron M13 Ant-Man 1 M14 Captain America: Civil War M15 Doctor Strange 1 M16 Spider-Man: Homecoming M17 Thor: Ragnarok M18 Black Panther 1 M19 Avengers: Infinity War M20 Ant-Man and the Wasp M21 Captain Marvel 1 M22 Avengers: Endgame M23 Spiderman: Far From Home I feel M21 Captain Marvel 1 needs to place somewhere up near M2 Iron Man 1. My son tells me M8 Thor: The Dark World should be first because it is the earliest film setting depicting one of the stones. I disagree. This is a call for support from die-hard fans to set me straight. Help me out a lil. |

I'm getting ready to rewatch the set.
Been awhile but I don't remember if the experiment which created Capt America was from a stone? The tesseract was delivered to Nick Fury on Earth by Capt Marvel. Avengers End Game really screwed with the timeline. Especially with the jump to get PIM particles. This puts a stone on Earth before Iron Man was even born. Avengers End Game screws up a lot of stuff. If we consider backstory, Thor Dark World would be first because Bor (Odin's Father) fights with Dark Elf Malekith over the Aether which is what Jane gets infected with. In Avengers End Game, they jump back to grab the stone as it is removed from Jane while she was in Asgard. So, the Dark Elves were the first instance of the mentioning of a stone. The Space Stone inside the Tesseract, the Mind Stone inside the Scepter and later in Vision's forehead, the Power Stone inside the Orb and later the Cosmi-Rod, the Time Stone inside the Eye of Agamotto, the Reality Stone as the Aether, the Soul Stone on Vormir and all of the Infinity Stones housed in the Infinity Gauntlet. |

Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 was Quill's father created by the 7th stone?
Referred to as the Ego Stone, hence the name Ego? While the MCU doesn't acknowledge the Ego Stone and it doesn't appear in any reference or any film, might it eventually pop up in the film franchise? At which time, Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 will become the first in the universe timeline because Ego existed before reality, er something like that - been awhile since I watched that movie...LOL |

M1 Captain America: The First Avenger the tesseract was found by the Germans at the beginning of the film so Capt America was created by a stone in the 1940s.
Edit: No, Hydra had the stone when Steve was transformed. I'm not sure what was used to create Capt America but the stone was in possession of Hydra, specifically Red Skull... M2 Iron Man 1 (if I recall correctly) had no mention of a stone. Iron Man was not created by a stone but his father had a stone before he was born. |

CONFLICT:
Space Stone inside the Tesseract. Tesseract in M1 Captain America: The First Avenger (1940's) Germans find it in a wall. Tesseract in M21 Captain Marvel 1 (1970's) Caroll Danvers gives it to Nick Fury, Mar Vell used it to power her space plane. Tesseract in M22 Avengers: Endgame (1940's) Stark's poppa had it in his lab with PIM particles Chain of Events: Germans had it, Stark's dad obtained it, Mar Vell stole it. |

|
M1 Captain America: The First AvengerThe Tesseract was found in the ocean after Steve crashed the plane.
Steve awoke 70 years later and Nick Fury had the eye patch. |

M3 The Incredible Hulk is a cute lil Marvel love story but
No stones There is mention of Stark So, We sit at: Infinity Stones: 1 Stark: 3 So simply put, so far in this particular timeline, Stark is the focus with the Infinity Stones coming in as a one up. |

M4 Iron Man 2 was entertaining enough with Pepper Potts and Natasha Romanoff but adding to the MCU is sorely lacking.
Stone Count so far: 1 Stark Count: 4 So far, the MCU is about the Stark family more than the Infinity Stones. |

M5 Thor 1 a stone appears at the very beginning and during the after credit scene.
A single reference to Stark Stone Count: 2 Stark Count: 5 |

i look at it this way. take the stone references where they come . think easter eggs for the overall story arc just like all the nick fury easter eggs. but follow the story in a chronological order accepting flashbacks and time slips as what they are. especially considering mcu totally ignores the xmen and all the rest of the marvel movies existence, yet even there we had fury easter eggs.

The way I understand the MCU, the Infinity Stones are the focus and the story follows Stark. Fury is a footnote.
M23 Spiderman: Far From Home is post-mortem stones and Stark but Stark still influences the story. Fury has a few decent storyline appearances dotted around the series but only influential in two, M21 Captain Marvel 1 & M23 Spiderman: Far From Home. I started M6 The Avengers 1 last night but had to shut it down and hit the rack. The series is full of easter eggs, cameos, tributes to other Marvel films and TV shows. |
