Tom, I really enjoyed reading your very thoughtful points. I agree with everything that you said, except that I should point out, in defense of the Bible, that the reason it says the streets of Heaven are paved with gold is not to appeal to a person’s greed. If one understands this saying hermaneutically, it is clear that the reason the streets are of gold is a statement about the true eternal value of gold, in other words, it’s value is so little compared to the spiritual riches of being in the presence of Christ that it is fit only to be trodden upon. (Feet were very dirty in the sandal days, and anything that they touched was also considered dirty; so a road made of gold demonstrates that gold has very little or no value in eternity.)

That makes sense from a religious point of view applied to the societies at that time. Thing is, streets of gold 'now' means something very different.
Gold, pearls, riches are coveted in today's society. Promises of gold, pearls, riches appeal to the greedy nature of today's society. If your Heaven were 'heaven' wouldn't being 'one' with your God be the greatest reward possible? Why does your religion need to emphasize material rewards and punishments? Its not the deeper meaning which is conveyed to current mindsets, its the actual words which appeal or dissuade behavior. Free will which stipulates punishment or reward is not free will.
Nuf said on religion, don't want to side track this discussion into a battle of scripture quotes.

Equality and loss of diversity,
aren't exclusive to each other .

One does not beget the other.

I don't believe in that horseshit. There is only balance to be found within yourself before you can find it in the world around you. Yin & Yang, cause and effect, destiny and fate wrapped within The Web of Life.

It's a sin against God and Nature to conform. We cooperate.
