Topic: Profile linked to other dating sites?

Have been a long time on and off user of Mingle2. Often, the contacts I make or receive have very limited information. e.g.:profiles are largely incomplete except for pictures, age, location.
These same contracts state that they cannot see my profile either, except for the information I mentioned above.
It turns out, that these contacts are not Mingle2 members? So far I have ascertained that my profile was sourced from DIA (DATING IN ASIA)?
Today another contact stated that she is a member of Aussie dating? I have messaged her back and awaiting her reply to determine exact details of Aussie dating?
It appears that by joining Mingle2, our profiles, albeit in basic forms, are also linked /shared somehow reciprocally with other sites.
Can someone please confirm this arrangement is in place and more specifically, which other Dating Sites are part of this sharing /linked network.

Mingle2 is not associated with being linked nor shared with other sites..

It is all Mingle only.

Hmm, just speculating...
Could be, someone from another dating site viewed your profile and copied the data and pics to another dating site as a scammer tool on that site (or to populate their own dating site with profiles).
It wouldn't be hard and since M2 is a free dating site and open to any member, who knows for sure?
I think its called 'Cloning' a profile.

Cloning or cat fishing, not sure. But I guess, it is possible, to use the same profile, under a different name, on other dating sites.

Yeah, I'm thinking more in terms of a site owner cloning random profiles to populate their profile database so it 'looks' like more profiles than the members who are actually there.

I've seen it done on a forum (not dating related) so the owner could get paid advertisers to sponsor his content based on the number of members. Member base lists also garner higher payoff when sold site partners and contact lists. You get more money for a list of 15,000 members than you do 1,500 even if not all profiles are active. Basically, a scammer scamming a scammer. The one buying the list is buying quantity not quality.

Okay before all jump the gun here is what they most likely was talking about...

Google Asian dating mingle2 you get this

https://mingle2.com/online-dating/alagoas/mingle2/asian-dating

Canada dating mingle2

https://mingle2.com/online-dating/ontario/canada

Texas

https://mingle2.com/online-dating/texas/texas/single-women

It is the same site. This one you are on they just entered it from where they are and that is how they are thinking that there is more than one site..

This is an International Site so they have links to all areas but they all lead to just one site.

Problem Solved!!

Okay, I'll try again.

1. I receive messages in my mailbox on Mingle2. As mentioned in my original post, the sender's contact details / photos are intact minus their 'personal and about' components.
2. I reply accordingly and mention / query why they haven't completed their profile and why they are asking me for information that is clearly in my Mingle2 profile.? And likewise, they query why I am asking the same question of them?
3. They reply (not isolated, but regular occurrence) that they are NOT Mingle2 members.
4. ALL barr one, so far, have stated that they are members of a dating site called DIA (Dating in Asia). Yes, this site exists and is quite huge.
5. All messaging back and forth with these specific contacts, is otherwise flawless.
6. I am going to sign up on DIA and try to verify (somehow) that this situation is in play. Problem is that on both Mingle2 AND DIA, members cannot be searched for, specifically. i.e.,no search facility by member name or number.
7. I'll keep you posted.

artykay, regardless of what other sites that member is on I assure you that they are a member on this site as well or they could not e-mail you within e-mails on this site.

Many members are on other sites & this one.
