It is believed that Lot lived 175 years. He was born in 1861 BC in Ur Babylon, Iraq, and died 1686 BC
His people lived in the city of Sodom, south of the Dead Sea, on the border between Palestine and Jordan. They used to worship idols and cross the path, so they would not let a traveler pass their way unless they attacked him and stole his money. The men had sex with men.
God Almighty sent them Prophet Lot to guide them to worship God alone and to refrain from immorality.
(Quran) when We sent Lot [as a Messenger to his people and he said to them: 'You approach men lustfully in place of women. You are a people who exceed all bounds.'
But they did not respond to the commands of God only a few of his household believed with him, and his wife did not believe.
God sent angels to the Prophet Lot, the angels was on the form of physical men. Lot's wife told the people that there are guests in Lot's house. The people came to his house wanting these guests. But Lot refused. (Quran); Their answer was: 'Banish them from your town. They are a people who pretend to be pure.'
They broke the door of the house to enter by force. The angels said; We are angels to protect you from them, so they chopped the people with a handful of dust that caused their blindness.
Lot and his family left the village except his wife, who did not believe in his message.
(Quran) We let loose a shower [of stones] upon them, Observe, then, the end of the evil-doers. We delivered Lot and his households save.
In the Bible
Lot was a righteous man.
Two angels who took the form of physical men, .. were sent by Abraham’s Lord to confirm the destruction of Sodom.[Genesis 18:20]
As soon as Lot and his daughters made it to Zoar, at daybreak, the heavens opened up raining down fire and sulfur upon the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah until they were completely and utterly destroyed, including all surrounding properties.[v.23-25]

In Holly Quran:
(28) And Lot, when he said to his people, "Indeed, you commit such immorality as no one has preceded you with from among the worlds.
(29) Indeed, you approach men and obstruct the road and commit in your meetings [every] evil." And the answer of his people was not but they said, "Bring us the punishment of Allah, if you should be of the truthful."
(30) He said, "My Lord, support me against the corrupting people."

The story of Prophet Lot teaches a lesson:
1. That evils like stealing, killing and homosexuality brings God’s wrath on people.
2. That we should strive to become self righteous as God promised to save Sodomites if there were ten righteous
men in Sodom.
3. That every individual is accountable for his own acts. As Prophet Lot's wife despite of being a wife of the
prophet, could not be saved from the wrath of God, due to her disbelief.
4. That God look after the righteous and in the end only the wicked would be overthrown.
