A real monster. Removes your selfesteem, fills you with fear, ruins you financially, takes everything you are proud of, destroys your social life, smashes your dreams and once it sucks you dry..it kills you.

So do some bad relationships.

I've witnessed a few battles with cancer others have had in my lifetime and it can rip you apart. My heart goes out to anyone fighting that battle for life.

My mother died of cancer and I nearly did too. Thanks for the public announcement but at this point in time ( 2021 ) most of us, if not all, know what cancer can do!

I lost one of my uncles and my best mate from school.

And my Dad was first diagnosed in 2013. But he is fighting against it.

Not sure if you are talking about yourself, or someone close to you, but yes cancer destroys lives. I’ve lost several friends and relatives to cancer, and currently my mother is battling breast cancer, which is spreading. There are many cancers that can now be cured, but the treatments can be harrowing. My thoughts are with you

Death is a promise. We all pass by different paths and at least cancer gives you time rather than a sudden event that takes you out immediately.
No disrespect to those suffering....

 I can certainly relate to what you have said, as sometimes there is no time to even say goodbye
