i just want to add this.

ok say smoking is banned everywheres no matter what, well trying compensate for not being able to smoke,a guy gets drunk at a bar, gets in the car and ends up killing a family of 4 due to his drunk driving.

what are the people against smoking going to say?"well hey atleast no one died of cancer"?

ya never know,it could happen....

my point is,you can't take away one bad thing and leave the others

But now being fair I think that business should be allowed to open up as a smoking place if you don't smoke then you don't have to go in there yeah they have rights too but regardles the ventilation should be enforced. I have nothing against smokers but both should be treated equal. bigsmile

Alcohol kills so many more people each year than smoking ever will, but who bans alcohol? So I say we ban smoking, alcohol, sugar, salt, everything in the world that's bad for you. Then when nothing is legal, we'll all die in our own stupidity.

i deffinately agree with you on that! drinker drinker drinker
2nd that

I 3rd that

Well dont know about the state ya live in but open containers of any kind is not allowed in Texas any longer and the liqour laws are getting tougher by the day here. Not worth it to drink and drive at all anymore. No slap on the wrist anymore.

I was talking DUI/DWI accidents that kill innocent people. We should ban driving, because its bad for a SMALL amount of people's health. <-- sound familiar?

Snuggles...SOME schools already have that going on. School counselors for kids are NOT the best way to decide which way they go in secondary school en univeristy. En there is already a stigma started in this area. As a grandparent, YOU can help. I know as a parent of 3 college kids...I am on top of it! #1 PRIORITY.

China limits parents to 2 children, anything over that has criminal charges put upon it, kinda like a cigarette tax.

it is the same, your still takign away somebody elses rights to suit yourself, reguardless of what it is their doing it's not right. would you like it if i said you can't drive becuase people get in accidents and that could affect my kid?

it's NOT the same.

first, i'm not taking away ANYONE's rights.

second, my children have special needs...one of which is severe asthma. i'm okay with not taking them to bars...i'm okay with not taking them to the fair or amusement parks...our outdoor theaters...or several relatives' houses...or the freaking park. but i SHOULD be able to go buy some food at the freaking grocery store. really, i should.

and yes, i'm pleased that i can take them into other places now. and i'm pleased that i can FINALLY go to children's hospital and avoid the same cloud...cause sorry, you just shouldn't be able to smoke at a children's hospital.

I am also an educator en I KNOW cities try to steer learning in industries according to the city plan en also according to leveled academic expectation. They try to fill each of the academic schools to keep the funds balanced. Again, parents need to be side by side with their kids in the educational process or they WILL get lost.

Nope cause I'm not saying to ban smoking at all just saying why some of the places go along with it and that smokers and non smokers both should have the choice to either go where there is or is not smoking why should they be mixed in the first place just because you want to smoke dont mean I want to smoke with you does itnoway noway

My daughter is in her first year of college and changed her major to elementary ed. My son is a senior and wishes to become an attorney.

Counselors should not be allowed to decide what courses the child will take, as you grow your interests, and talents change. Imagine being told that you must be a Scientist, when what you really want to do is teach pre school.

Will our children, grandchildren, and the future children of America be allowed to do what their heart desires in a job, or will the government choose for them?

I have special needs too, I need to smoke. And you're taking away everyone's right to choose, where and when they can do something.

On this one Lulu I feel that there should be no smoking

Places that are geared for children should not allow smoking. Hosptials are now having smoking areas outside where patients are allowed to go.

NO one needs to smoke while grocery shopping

I think its what happens when they ban cigarettes, then when they give longer sentences to people that smoke weed than to people that murder someone.

 WOW, in my hometown. The hospital gave smokers a outside unheated plastic building.
I smoke and IT MADE "ME" SICK...lol
I felt like a butt in an ASHTRAY...the smell was like YUK!!!

But YOU could NEVER smoke INSIDE the hospital!!

I think these smoking bans are good . Eventually with the only place to smoke being on your property fewer people are going to smoke .
Eventually it could be phased out .

Do you want your children to smoke ?
I think these are good bans . I wouldn't mind alcohol and fatty foods being banned as well . Please do I would appreciate it .

You're advocating taking away my rights, for the rights of your children. Thus, equally YOU, taking away MY rights.

-- Though smoking in the grocery store is disturbing anyway, I'm all for banning it there. ---
