It's not all fun and games if you meet someone off a dating app and it goes terribly wrong.....

Same as in real life.....it all goes downhill fast, usually before the first date!

Really? I'm always optimistic on a first date or meet-up.

It's not all fun and games if you meet someone off a dating app and it goes terribly wrong. I would advise people using dating sites and apps to use extreme care because you never know if you're running into a date scammer/con-artist with a fake profile on the date site you're using and don't be so quick to share your email address or cellphone number with anyone and always direct message them through Mingle2's contact messenger only for personal safety.

In all the years of dating sites and dating from such a site I've never come across a scammer or con artist.
I think people are way too apprehensive concerning that.
You use your common sense, and a good dating site to begin with. You pay attention to what someone says. If it all seems too good to be true it usually IS.
If someone is pushing, needy or whatever, then don't go on a date.
It ain't rocket science.

Maybe in some countries there is a higher chance of scammers, not sure. Like many US men here whinge about 'gold diggers'. I have never spoken a man here that holds that fear. And I've never come across a fake when dating either.

Now I don't go on a date easily. I don't date for the heck of dating since I don't like it that much. I only go on a date when I feel there could be potential for a relationship.

The same as in real life.
Maybe you invest too soon or expect too much too soon. Go dating with the mindset you're going to meet another adult and hopefully will have a nice conversation. Don't go dating with the idea you are going to meet your future husband.
