You are right without trust there is no love, so with trust it it possible.

My 1st love and I tried very hard, 1st writing daily. Later we'd write daily but send the letters weekly. This continued over a year until we were both set to move on to university, we decided to start seeing others. Unfortunately, that didn't really work out when a girl I was seeing found some letters. She took it upon herself to write her and curse her out just as her family was moving and she decided to follow them and finish school there. Unfortunately I had no idea the girl I was seeing did that until my LDR love wrote me one last time, telling me about the letter she got. She decided not to give me her new address. I was devastated and continued to write her only to get the letters back. Shortly after that I was informed I was to become a father by this girl who I thought was a casual relationship. Tricked and cornered at 19yo, I simply was too distraught to do anything except accept my fate. I tried to be the best dad I could but began to feel betrayed by this girl I was now with. Needless to say that didn't last. I continued wanting to be in my child's life which she made almost impossible.
Thank goodness I persisted and finally got a court order forcing her to allow me partial custody. I'm happy to say my child is still in my life. However, we don't get together as much as I do with my other kids (all adults now). I'm at least fortunate that we still know each other and maintained some sense of a relationship throughout her lifetime...

I've tried a few LDRs in the last few years but without a physical connection I have to say that it's basically impossible trying to begin a relationship with surmountable distance between the twtwo...
