Penalty shootouts often feel random because a single kick can decide a match, but research and decades of elite football suggest they're far from mere luck. They combine technical skill, psychology, strategy, and probability.

Hey ....in case no one noticed.... Canada made it thru to the next round , and play Morroco on Saturday.....will this be as far as they will go..... Too sad Netherlands and Germany lost on penalties !!! Indeed sad we're out :( Certainly on penalties. I never like that however thrilling it may be to watch. Good you're still in the game! If the match is at a doable time for me I may watch it :) Personally I don't see why you wouldn't/couldn't win from Morocco. Everyone was yapping how much better and stronger their team was compared to the Dutch. And yet they couldn't win by making it 2-1, had to rely on penalties for that. (I always regard penalties a bit as pot luck, hihi) Then me's thinking, "Not so much stronger then, huh?!" [/quote Canada plays at 1pm ET Saturday....it will be a tuff game ...Morroco are used to the heat....and we are having a heat wave at this moment.. Just like England had a hard time against Congo...but settled down and won ... Only to set up in Mexico against Mexico...worse playing conditions... Go Canada Go...!!!! |

Ah, 1PM ET is 19.00 here (7PM) so that is certainly a good time to watch it :) Hopefully the heat is going to be bearable. Certainly won't help... They didn't really choose great places to play, did they?! |

Looks like, that Nagelsmann fella is about to resign. Bookie's favourite to take over: JΓΌrgen Klopp. We shall wait and see ...

Brasil being sent home by Norway? Incredible. That Haaland fella is a monster.
Still sticking with England to lift the trophy |

Delighted that Belgium won. Don't take it too personal, but the US team fielded a player, that should not be on the pitch. Having the red card of Balogun revoked, was a joke. No politician whatsoever should interfere in the matters of a football governing body.
So spoke karma |

You can tell the US President is the most powerful and influential man on this Planet, and is not shy about using his power , right or wrong. So just wondering if King Charles is gonna make that call to overturn the red card and two game suspension, for that English player....better be soon the game is Saturday....and the ground work has already been done.....lol.....

I reckon, King Charles has other things in mind. He is fighting cancer for the last three years, and even if he is responding well to the treatment, he would not do anything stupid. |

Spain knocking out France? Not bad, I must say. Their efficiency was brutal, and conceding a single goal in the whole tournament is great.
Showdown tonight then ... |

I think Spain is going to win it or what do you think

It could be Spain alright. The fact, that they only conceded a mere goal so far, might be decisive alright.
I feel a bit for Tuchel though. He is a decent fella. But parking the bus after going 1 nil up was deffo a bad decision
