I am just curious if a person being in the military has less chances of finding love than others? I know the seriousness of combat, and that person might have to go overseas, but is it a automatic "no" flag for finding true love?

I didn't want you sitting here waiting for an answer.. alone.

I'd have to say no.. Not so much for the military as the man though.

i see a lot of women that have a thing for men in uniform but yet they always seem to end up breaking it off cuz of distance or something. i think their desirable but just makes for a really hard relationship most people just aren't prepared for.

My last ex and I broke up before he left for boot camp. He's a Marine. but we knew each other before he joined.. and when he graduates basic we'll see where things go..

Seen many women here fall in love with a military man.

I think you'll do just fine.

most all of the men in my family were/are military i hold high respect for that. i do not think it makes a difference as far as finding love, matter of fact, i find them very appealing. but that is me.

i think it depends on the persons job. when i was in germany i was on a traveling team. we were gone 8 months out of the 12 give or take. you can't hold down a relationship doing that. guess thats why i'm single.
i'm used to jobs that require me to be gone accept for the last few years. and now i'm so used to being alone it just seems natural.

Thanks, and I don't work in a combat zone anymore, I got tired of hearing all the bullets buzzing about so I changed jobs. I want to come home every night!

I have a thing for military men.....one inperticular....MY Marine SON....lol...and his dad better hand over his great pic that was taken from bootcamp....

love..well he just asked his g/f to marry him...she will wait if he is deployed in the future..nothing like young love...

I know a lot of happily married military ppl....I think it takes special ppl to be with a military person..alot of waiting, stress and worry goes with it...

I too, am very attracted to military men. And I also believe that true love will stand the test of time and distance.

Im in the Army and find myself asking that everyday..
So I decided to find friends and if something happens then it happens . It's just hard to find someone who can understand my career and understand that sometims I will be gone for long periods of time and the stress that goes with my MOS.
I believe someone is out there for me and when the time is right they will be found....Till then soldier on....

Well, if it's like active duty then I probably would just pass someone by if they're stationed over seas or away from me. But, if I had the chance of getting to know them first and being able to spend time then things might be different. I've always said that I would never be able to be with a military man cause I couldn't handle the stress of not knowing if my man is coming home or if he's okay and just the distance would be far to much for me. And I've been cheated on twice so there's always that little trust factor of if they're being faithful while so far away, ya know? I've been working hard on getting rid of that though.

It takes a VERY independt person to have a SERIOUS relationship with a military man/woman. Any Girl/guy who is needy(at all) and it will never work. I'm in the navy right now, probably for life. My wife and i have been married for almost four years but i was on shore duty and came home every night...i got back from my first deployment to her packing her bags....so you find 'lust' very easy and one night stands even easier...but for them to be willing to wait they have to be VERY independt. IMHO
