I personally wouldn't but I have a friend who almost did. I am curious to hear if anybody else would.

I tried once, but I felt so incredibly uncomfortable that it didn't last for very long.

No mans love could ever be stronger than the love I believe my God has for me.

Nope. I know people who have. But if a person truly loved you, they wouldn't make you change for them.

No I wouldn't..... but I also wouldn't date someone who's beliefs were not the same as mine....

I truly feel that would cause conflicts...

I have a legitimate quesiton. For all those who think they 'would not' change their faith for another. What about this?

Suppose you are Christian and met another Christian how do you know you believe the same thing? Or do you actually take it so far as to find out not only what sect of Christianity but do you actually compare doctrines?

If you do, what doctrines would you allow to cause you to break up?

And what if a (say) Baptist refused to accept your Methodist doctrine, would you 'convert' your doctrine to thiers and become Methodist?

I mean how far do you all really take this?

If I was seeing a girl who believed in a religion, and she brought her God over, and he had proper ID and everything, then we would have to talk.

Denomination:? No problem.

Personally I am nondenominational Christian so I will attend any church so long as it is Christian. I accept parts from all churches.

Seriously, no, I think. A couple must have a standard of values, outside themselves, for the purpose of settling disputes. If their outside source for this "codex of truth" is different from the other, how would they settle the most important problems? Conversion for convenience? I don't think so.

Well, many sects are really fairly similar. More of the differences are in the nature of structure and organization. Some are fairly different. I have a friend who is Catholic but her husband is christian of a different flavor. Because her husband is not specifically Catholic, she is not allowed to take communion nor is she allowed to go to confession. Maybe her church is just very strict. I don't know. I do know that it bothers her. She doesn't direct the anger at her husband nor does she expect him to convert. She directs her anger at it at the Catholic Church. She still goes to church and has her kids in the appropriate programs for their Catholic upbringing. But she is upset that she can't partake of most of the sacriments.
