in the 1700s Weiner dogs were first called "Badger Dogs" cause their the only known dog on earth that will fight a badger to the death..then in the 1800s they became known as "Dachshunds".they werent called weiner dogs till in the 1950s when they first came to the U.S. after ww2 ..
