They say that it takes 1/2 the amount of time to get over a relationship, as the relationship lasted. so if you were together 8 years, it would take you 4 years to get over it. Make sense? I only have 6 years of suffering left.sad

Ugh! Great! Over another year of this crap?!

ok I have meet someone on JSH an I really like him alot, but I still am in love with my ex an cant seem to get over him, I wanna get over him an try things with the other guy, I dont think its fair to the other guy if my ex still has my feelings.. I dont know what to do grumble plz help..thank youdrinker

Your right it is unfair to the other guy. I just went through this and now i'm datting again. my real feeling on all of this. Is your not ready to be in any relationship. Because if you think seeing this othere guy is going to get you over your ex, Better think twice about that and who your going to end up hurting. It's called being honest with yourself and what piss me off is that most wont be honest with themselves and whats going on in there life...

 anything i say on this site, I have to hear myself. I look at things and say, do I want a relationship or do i want to be happy. I rather be by myself and be happy then to go through the pain of what could happen if I don't do the right thing for me.

Your going to do what your going to do, but I hope you do whats right for you:smile:

I'd say, try spending more time with the "new" guy and with time, (hopefully sooner than later) you'll start to notice your feelings slowly transfer from the last guy to the newbie. That's if the chemistry is right. If not, you're SOL. =)

That is ridiculous. Why waste 6 years of your precious life looking at the past moaning and groaning and feeling sorry for yourself? Why would anyone continue to suffer over someone who does not want them, and has moved on with their life? Are you a glutton for punishment? Do you like crying in your bear? Do you thrive on sympathy from others?

The past is gone and over. It does not exist. Review the good time, take note of what you learned from the experience and move on with your life. It should not take more than a few months to adjust if you use your will to direct your thoughts to something else. Live in the present moment and get the hell out of the past.

If you truly loved them, you will want them to be happy and you will wish them well. But if all you are thinking about is your own happiness then you need to think about whether you really loved them or if you only loved how they made you feel or what you wanted.

Enjoy the moment, get out of the past. Get over it. Stop wasting your time. Time is all you have. You are given so much time in this life to spend. It is a precious commodity.

However, if you love misery and if you love feeling sorry for yourself, then by all means, spend you whole life that way... but it is your choice.

Jeannie
