I am considering putting on my profile will condsider marriage proposals for health insurance .. there are tons of people out there just like me .. I would gladly wait three months for a mamogram .. a check up of any kind .. I make too much to get the free stuff but not enough to afford the 800 for me and that does not include maternity .. seems like most politicians forget about me ...

just a short story....5 years ago i was a single mother working 2 full time jobs to make ends meet. no health coverage, was diagnosed with cancer. had to have surgery immediately or plain and simple, i would not make it. i had to pay completely out of pocket for this upfront! no payments, etc...i had to pay the surgeon in full before they would even show up, the hospital i had to pay 75% of the estimated bill before they would allow the procedure. i had to pay the cost of the therapy and treatments up front. i had nothing to cover this nor did i have a helping hand or a rich uncle haha...it completely wiped me dry. i had to apply for loans and credit cards etc... im still paying for this and will until i finally do die. its just crazy. there are so many people out there who dont have those resources to do that. if it would ever come back again and i would have to do this all over again i would just have to die! my credit is shot because of this, so it effected every other part of my life. its just crazy....not even really sure why i told that story i guess all of this put me in mind of it. i just pray that someday things will change, who knows.

and it cost 17 bucks for two tylenol at the hospital that is not greed ?/

Like I said, I do not dispute there needs to be oversight, regulation, and an overhaulof the system... just don't put the government in charge...

If you do, those Tylenol will wind up costing tax payers $100 and take you two weeks to get them by the time it goes through the 15 people required to approve the dispensing, review the process, file the paperwork, and supervise the nurse handing you the paper cup... (remember, all those goverment employees will have to be PAID their salary out of those tax dollars as well).

On a personal note, send me an email and I'll try to see who we use for insurance for the staff memebers we have that are "Self Employed Contractors" - we have a provider that gives them a MUCH better rate than $800 a month and we've got people all over the country! - anything to help out!

funny you said that i have to laugh. my mother married my step father for insurance purposes. he was madly in love with her and she didnt love him but was very ill. she was honest with him. of course after almost 20 years of marriage she was deeply in mad with him, but in the beginning it was a marriage of necessity haha...there are alot people really doing this! again, i see it all the time. also sadly alot of elderly who are forced to divorce or not get married because then they may lose their retirement benefits that they worked so hard for...there is just so much and its so crazy. often times us and young people dont see it or think about it. we just assume because they are retired that they have money and are all set...oh so untrue. one illness without the proper coverage can wipe them out in no time. its nuts!

Because it is the story of a lot of people .. and even more are ending up this way .. people get laid off 3 years before retirement only to have to reenter a less then welcoming workforce .. for not near what they made before .. people are paying more money for less ... it is no longer supply and demand it is demand and demand if there is any left .. Then you have the ignorant who think that if it does not effect them then it just isn't happening .... the republicans still have not copped to Regans response and cut back to mental health and how that caused an explosion to the homeless population ...

I would gladly wait three months for a mamogram ..

Think about it, 3 months to wait knowing that you, and your doctor found a LUMP that needs to be checked out? - you willing to bet your life to cancer on 3 months?

Just pointing out that the people that are having to wait on some of these proceedres under other countries national health care programs are not just for ROUTINE screenings, but for things that, if there was a delay of 3 days here the provider would be suied for mal-practice!

as i told my story before. what if my cancer came back? id rather be on a waiting list for some hope of help than to just sit and know there is NOTHING i can do but wait to die!!! there are always 2 ways to look at something

Oh yeah 3 months is nothing .. if I have a lump now I will have to wait until my boob is falling off to go to the emergancy room and so what is the difference I have a chance at care waiting 3 months

Want to hear some of the FACTS about how these plans DON'T work. head over to http://www.ipi.org/

We have to look at this with Fact and Logic... NOT EMOTION. Sounds cold, but it's true. We let the emotional side of things get to us and we'll only make the problems worse....

That's where the term "Bleeding Heart Liberal" came from. People that tend to think with their heart and not the facts (Not throwing that term out there as an insult).
