i sit and look out my window
i watch people pass by
some i know
others i don't
i wonder

what are their lives like
what are thier hopes, their dreams
do they have fears
do they love, hate
are they indifferent

I put on my face
i steal myself against the cold
i step out my door
i step into this world

i walk by windows
what do they see?
do they see my laughter?
do they see my playfullness?
do they see my smile?

I hope i have hidden
hidden my fears
hidden my tears
hidden my pain
my scars

does my facade hold up?
i interact everyday with this world
slowly coasting through
never a part of it
i want to reach out
instead i'll make another joke
laugh another laugh
all the while inside
i slowly die
a little more eachday
