not long back, me and my mom were driving along a very busy dual carriageway, and i saw a little girl about aged 2 , running across the dual carriadgeway, cars going from both directions and 2 lanes. she hadnt made it very far YET, before she got any further i jumped out the car ran across the road and grabbed her, and took her to safety. i didnt think of my own life at all, i didnt look to see if there was any cars coming, i just ran and grabbed her, and held her in my arms. her mom was walking a very long way behind her, her mom could have cost her daughters life and mine. how irresponsible.no way would have she made it to the other side.

as anyone else saved a life?? or tried??

As a matter of fact..I just saved my 13 year old sons life the other day..we were coming out of a store at a busy mall just chatting..we were headed to my car in the parking lot. He was just talking away (as usual..haha) and not paying attention to where he was going. He was just about to step into the parking lot without looking, and a car was coming pretty fast.. I yanked him back just in time or he would have been hit for sure..scared me to death...and him..He then just looked at me and said "mom you just saved my life"..Guess he will be more careful now...bigsmile

It was three weeks ago... I woke from a sound sleep and thought I heard screaching brakes and a unforgetable crashing sound.. I jumped into some clothes and out the door I went... There in front of the house sat a car some 6' up on a snow bank, lights on and the stereo just a cranking. I climbed up the snow bank knocked on the window with NO reply ( I then expected to find the passenger hurt from the crash and opened the door) There inside was a young woman crying, I asked her if she was alright, she said yes but then told me she wanted to roll the car and die, she then held up her arms to tell me she had sliced both wrists and went for a ride in the car so she could die...noway I told her I have been depressed before also and tried to comfort her before running off to call 911 for a blanket and towel ( to stop the bleeding) The abulence arrived in 20 minutes and she survived. She is receiving counciling now and was happy to know that strangers do care... Most freaky accident I ever saw! Jim

Some years ago a seller (a child about 9 years old) was selling sweets on the stoplights (very common in Central A) and a Bus was about to hit him, but i ran and took the child quickly but unfortunatly, the escape tube of the bus burned my left arm by frictioning,...i lost some skin but all was ok, the child ran away, and i have never seen him again.

Being in the nursing field, I have been in many, many circumstances in which I had a part in saving lives.

One particular time, however, I threw all formalities and hospital policy out the window and started an IV and administered medication without a physician's orders.

The patient was then taken to the ED (the incident took place in a nursing home) and all turned out well.

I MUCH prefer to be a follower, but when the need arises, and I am left with no other avenue to travel, can, and will, take charge.

I saved my husband's life.......we were dating at the time and he was sleeping......and it sounded like his breathing was funny.....almost gurgling......I told him that he should go to the doctor but he said no. I phoned the hospitals around because he didnt have med insurance yet because I thought he may have pnuemonia. I forced him to go to the ER.....almost had to carry him because he was breathless. When we got to triage they took his BP and it was something like 175/200 I cant remember.......they rushed him in right there......head spinning not knowing what to do...Im standing there.......noway

Turns out he was going into kidney failure and was about to have a heart attack. He is now on a waiting list for a new kidney........

Anyways......I dont think Im the one who saved his life....I think I was just there at the right time and place.

Yes, a brother-in-law, drowning, a stranger climbing over a train, a broken down motorest in 70 mph traffic, STOPPED in the center lane. three times running a suicide attempt person to the hostpital.
And MANY who would NOT be here if someone else would have been driving my truck...

your story is similar to mine, we both risked our own lives to save another. shame he ran off, but he will always remember you.

wow what a story, and that BP is very bad, it should be 120/80. you did save his life, if you hadnt dealth with the situation he could have had a heart attack in his sleep and died. you defintly saved his life. and you were there at the right time, to save his life.

i hope he gets his new kidney soon. i just wish more people would donate, but thats a different story.

i defintly think someone was watching over you both that day.flowerforyou flowerforyou flowerforyou
