I agree it is sad that people don't actually see us for our true colors. As i said we are not perfect. I think our arrogance makes other countries dislike us more than anything. but people forget that just because we are arrogant deosn't mean we aren't respectable. We have covered people's butts on many occasions in the past. I agree with that i do find it a tragety.

SOME people don't care about the flag anymore. I guess that's an easy thing to do when you never contribute anything to it. That flag represents everything this country ever was, and ever will be. Call us arrogant for placing our own country first. Many men have payed for that flag with their blood. Many willingly sacrificed themselves while wearing it on their shoulder. Many more will. If you see no symbolizm in our own flag you may as well call America a temporary dwelling for you are not true Americans. Even if you are not satisfied with how things are run right now you should not deam that flag as useless or even anything less than it ever was. For it meant something to someone once, it means something to us now, and it is symbolic of everything this country will ever be in the future. If you disagree you may leave without quams. and yet wearing that flag outside the borders of your own country is tantamount to wearing a bulls-eye. I have met countless of USA backpackers with the Canadian flag on their packs...I find it tragically ironic that so many shed blood or died only for it to all come down to that, dont you??? well if all is equal next time the place should get blown up note------- i am not advocating nor promoting violence just an observation from other post ----------------- guess that owner got off easy    <<--they are watching |

Our nation reveres the flag, not out of a sense of unquestioning worship but out of a deep sense of our national heritage. Strengthened by our noble deeds, splendid accomplishments, and untold sacrifices, the flag reflects America's pledge to uphold democracy and work for peace throughout the world. It is America's strength in honor, as dignified in the stars and stripes of the flag, which helps to establish the moral character of our national foundation. and why would anyone not know? It says it right here- "I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all." right, thats why you find it on underwear, rolling papers, car deoderizers and anything else made in China that you can slap a flag on and sell it....pleeeeeze.   |

We have covered people's butts on many occasions in the past. Right, the battle at Normandy, for one. France, as a whole, does not appreciate what the US did for them. We are not an arrogant nation. We are a proud nation. We have fought long and hard for our country, for our freedom. Letting our Flag be disrespected shows disgusting contempt against the lives of our military that were lost fighting for our freedom. Lindyy

I had a dream near 3 am.
That crashed into my night. A multitude of warriors. Standing in full sight. On their anguished faces. Were grim and hateful glares. They wore Marine Corps blouses. Yet all they did was stare. I saw the wounds of Belleau Woods. I saw the scars of Guam. The dead were there of Heartbreak Ridge. And a company from Nam. Then one spoke out and asked me. A question loud and strong. Can they burn the flag we died for? How can it not be wrong? I did not have an answer. To ease their angry pain. I could only give excuses. For a country gone insane. I saw the flag of Iwo. Just before I died. I saw the lead pole lifted. Where the flag was safely tied. I know its just a symbol. That flies above our graves. But let it be a symbol. Of what those men before you gave. With that the dream was over. And I woke with fear and shame. To think a fool can tranple. The flag that bares their names. Dragon. I can say this from the bottom of my heart. If I saw the Taliban or some terrorist having their way with you. I would do nothing. You reap what you sow. Now report this like the whining liberal you are. |

Dont know what to say,,,  Im all choked up, Lindyy!! We may argue and quibble amongst ourselves, Often violently, but many have made the ultimate sacrifice for the Stars and Stripes! To hear women, mothers, defend it with such Love, tells me we shall have more generations of Justly arrogant Americans! Reeeealy it chokes me up   Hi!!

My patriotism to my country is larger than any flag. My patriotism is beyond any flag. I know that it represents us as a symbol of our country but as for patriotism it is not the epitomy of patriotism.
So the fact that someone hung both flags together to me states they were representing both countries. I think getting boxers in a bunch over where they hung the flags is a little over board. Really folks, they hung both flags, that is the important part, I think. |

Oh! And I got my US citizenship last year...so you can keep your sarcasm for yourself...fellow american. We would never go to their country and place our flag above theirs you mean without bombing them first? sorry that was too easy. He would not do diddly-squat for our country, but takes arrogant advantage of those who lost their lives fighting for our freedom and the strong nation that we have become. He got to be an American citizen the easy way out. I am SURE your parents were proud Americans!! They helped make America what is is today, just like my family that came here from Sweden, Ireland and France. But, would they disrespect the US like this male individual has? NO!! Perhaps he needs to do a term of service in the military defending this country before he is allowed to spout off. But, he would never do something like that. Too easy. He can mouth off and yet when I, born and raised here, who come from a family of 4th generation born and raised in the US, citizens makes a little remark about his getting his US citizenship too easy, gets all BENT OUT OF SHAPE and mouths off to a female, not man enough to mouth off to one of the men on this thread. Took the Flag down and hung it like it was supposed to be. He then proceeded to give me verbal instructions on the proper way to fly the Flag. It is not the flag people die for. It is not the flag that shows the world what we are and who we are and what we do, it is us. We are America.
"We the People" are this country and no flag can make that or break that. It is just a symbol. |
